Chapter 1: The Shattering

(Reader's pov)

It was Era 1, all five Diamonds were together.
Pink was so happy she finally got her own colony.
Yellow and Blue gave Pink the planet Earth to take over, I was so happy for her.

Before, Pink used to be so jealous that I had two colonies when she didn't have one. But Yellow and Blue knew I was more responsible than her and that's the main reason why.
But with Earth, Pink can mature and rank up with the rest of the Diamonds.
White was especially happy for Pink, like she always was. Even though I was the first to be successful before Pink, White seemed to have eyes just for Pink.

I didn't know exactly why, it always bothered me, like I was never enough. But I always did my best to not let that get the best of me, not while I have colonies to look after. "(C/d)! Did you hear?" Pink asked excitedly, but I already knew, Yellow told me. But I wanted to enlighten her so I pretended to be clueless.

"I haven't Pink, what has gone around?" I replied, Pink showed me a little pink screen with a picture of a planet with one moon.
"Yellow and Blue gave me my own planet!" Pink exclaimed. I smiled, she was an energetic gem that one. I loved her dearly, and so I made sure to pretend I was surprised.
"That's amazing Pink! I'm so proud of you! Your first colony!"

That's when I had an idea, it was the perfect occasion to throw a Ball, to celebrate Pink's first colony. Pink, (who loves throwing balls), thought it was a great idea too.
She invited everyone, Blue, Yellow, and obviously White. Their courts were there to witness the mark of a Diamond's first colony, I knew the Ball had to be perfect.

*TIME SKIP TO THE BALL*

We knew Pink didn't have her own Court yet so we had ours greet her instead. But later on she'll have her own gems to accept or reject, I wonder what gems she'll produce.

I sat on my throne next to Pink as some gems greeted us. "Pink Diamond!" The jades from my Court said, "It's wonderful to be in your presence!" They spoke in unison. Pink smiled at the two little gems. "Great to see my fellow gems to!" Pink said happily. "Wow, so radiant and sparkly."
Then the jades looked at me, "(C/d)!, It's incredible being in your light." I smiled warmly at my gems.

"Glad my Court is perfectly present for this Ball." I replied, "Wow, so luminous and dazzling!" The jades then walked separate ways.

After greeting all of my Court, Pink and I could hear Yellow Pearl announcing the presence of Yellow Diamond.
"Everyone behold, the daunting, beauty and elegance that is.....Yellow Diamond!" Exclaimed Yellow Pearl.
The curtains opened as Yellow Diamond radiated her powerful aura, the attendance gems saluted in their place. She walked up and smiled at me and Pink and sat down on her throne.

Next was Blue, "Everyone, prepare yourselves emotionally, for the overpowering elegance, that is Blue Diamond." The aquamarines opened the curtains as Blue gave off a soft and powerful aura, I saw a glimpse of some gems tear up.
Blue smiled and whispered to us, "I'm so proud of you." Pink formed a smile on her lips and thanked her, letting Blue elegantly sit on her throne.

The lights suddenly shut off and some spotlights shone on White's Pearl, "To those in attendance of the Celebration......I present to you, White Diamond." The gems struck an immediate salute to White, as her radiance filled the grand Ballroom. Pink quietly squealed in excitement, happy that White showed up.
I sat up straight when White sat up in her throne. All of the gems looked up at all five Diamonds, basking in there impeccable light.
White smiled her usual formal smile, "Let this celebration of Pink Diamond's first colony, begin!" She announced. And the ball began.

*TIME SKIP*

(Third person)

It's been a few thousand years since Pink began making gems on Earth, her Court was stocking up with Amethysts and Jaspers, (remember, the Quartz's didn't emerge yet when Pink became Rose).

It was one day that Pink came up to Yellow and Blue that she said she didn't want to go through with the colony anymore.
Of course, they were angry and frustrated about it.

"Pink, you begged us for a colony, we threw a huge Ball to celebrate it. And now you don't want it?!" Said Yellow. When Pink tried to tell them about the organics, all they did was ignore her. When she tried to tell them about the intelligent life there, they still ignored her.
The only thing they truly did about it was make a human zoo and put a bunch of humans in it, just so Pink could stop complaining.
Pink begged them again and again.
She even came to (C/d) to deal with the issue. But (C/d) was also bothered by the fact Pink was ungrateful.

It was then a Rose Quartz started a rebellion against the colonization of Earth, the Diamonds needed Pink to mature and had her deal with the issue. These 'Crystal Gems' were nothing more than a joke in Yellow, Blue, and (C/d)'s eyes. But then it started to get serious.

The war began, Rose Quartz started to attack. And yet, Pink Diamond's armies seemed to be winning, Blue, Yellow and (C/d) thought it was basically over.

But one day, that very fateful day....

*FLASHBACK*

(The pov is based on what the gems saw)

Pink Diamond was in her palanquin, while her Court was outside, ready for her new announcements for battle plans. And as soon as she stepped out, Rose Quartz came out of nowhere.

Rose Quartz, drew her rebel blade......and shattered Pink Diamond! Pink Diamond's court screamed in dismay, their Diamond..... shattered!
Rose Quartz fled and fast as she could, leaving Pink Diamond's shards behind....
And soon the other Diamonds heard of the news, their anger was overwhelming.

So (C/d), Blue, Yellow, and White launched a direct attack against Earth. And in their fury, they used their power to end the fighting, once and for all......
