(C/D's pearl pov)

"Pink" Blue Diamond said from behind.

We all turned around, me, Blue Pearl, and Yellow Pearl stood straight, both of us besides Blue Pearl doing the salute. Her laughing cut short very quickly.
"Why aren't you getting ready?" She said in both frustration and suspicion.

Pink nonchalantly shrugged. "I guess I am ready if all I have to do is sit in a chair." Blue crouches down so she could be a bit closer. Her expression turns to worry.
"Are you really going to look like this, even at the ball?" She said. With all due respect, I didn't like the way Blue Diamond said that, of course I knew that Pink Diamond's new preferred form is quite... Questionable, Blue Diamond didn't have to act disgusted. I thought she was happy Pink Diamond was back!

"I can't really help it.." Pink Diamond replied, as though nervous about saying that. Suddenly, Blue's expression changes drastically, now she looked suspicious.
"You weren't thinking of inviting your earth friends, were you?" She asked nervously. I swallowed a lump in my throat, the way Blue Diamond was speaking was making me uncomfortable.

"Why wouldn't I?-" Pink said right before Blue Diamond placed her hands between the rest of us and Pink, then separating her.
"Steven!" The Crystal Gems said in broken unison.
From where I was standing, I could see Pink climbing onto Blue Diamond's hand, grunting she says, "They can't come? Aren't they my "court" or whatever?" She was clearly frustrated.

"Pink, quit fooling around! White Diamond is going to be there! We have to present her with our best possible selves, just like- our gems have to present us with their best possible selves. A ball is a chance to inspire everyone." Blue Diamond explained, she seemed a little desperate to get through to Pink Diamond.

"But my friends are super inspiring!" Pink Diamond protested, "They'll inspire White too! Together we can make a case for Earth!" She said with a flint of determination in her eyes, one I can tell Blue Diamond did not like. I glance at the Crystal Gems, they were scared out of their forms in the presence of Blue Diamond, it served them right, but I kinda felt bad for them, reduced down to that number, now in the face of someone stronger, it must feel terrible.

Blue Diamond's expression finally softens. "Very well.. you can bring your pearl of course and your pet." She said reluctantly.
Pink Diamond looked confused, but I knew she meant the human- I mean Connie.
"Uhhhh, pet?"

Connie held her arm in awkwardness, "I think she means me.."
"As for this faulty amethyst," Blue continued. I snickered internally. "Oh boy here it comes.." the ameythyst said, knowing the inevitable insults.
I think she deserves it, she's a little too casual near a Diamond...

"She'll need limb enhancers to meet her height requirement," Blue Diamond kept going, as though going through a mental list.
"The sapphire will need to enter with the other sapphires of course, and the ruby will need to enter with the guard." I was back to feeling uncomfortable, not because of the fusion, but the fact that Blue Diamond was speaking so openly about separating them.
What am I thinking? This fusion is already forbidden, why am I so upset they are being separated like they should be? What has being around these gems done to me? Now it's a little more worrying.

"Whoa whoa whoa, are you talking about Garnet?" Pink Diamond said. Garnet? Is that her name? She barely looks like one, but at least it's a more flattering name to give yourself instead of something stupid like dark-purple-fusion.
"Garnet?," Blue Diamond stands back up to her actual height, "Does that, call herself a garnet? Haha- what would you have her do? Enter with the demantoids? The hessonites, the pyrobes? Pink I'm being very generous but you can't expect me to-"
