Lana Uhli was eighteen years old when she was reaped into the 60th hunger games, along with Elliot Bluebell who was thirteen years old.

Lana's grandmother always used to tell her that the games were much harder at the beginning. Her grandmother watched the games, her best friend was the winner of the 10th Hunger Games and vividly remembers how the games were situated in a small auditorium, a place where there wasn't many places to hide.

'At least now the tributes have places to hide, with all this technology the capitol uses, the place is bigger, so much bigger than it used to be back then. Although cruel, at least they live a little bit longer.'

Lana loved to hear her grandmother tell her all about Lucy Gray, the games, their friendship and how much of a talented singer she was.

Lana's family had some story with the games, with the games taking two members of her family, who she of course never met but according to those who did met them, she would've loved them. First it was her grandmothers sister, who was at the 13th Hunger Games at the age of seventeen and then there was her uncle who was at the 32th game at the age of thirteen. None of them made it.

When Lana got reaped the family didn't take it well, but her grandmother knew that her granddaughter would win or at least help her fellow tribute win, she hated the thought of Lana letting her fellow tribute win but she knew that the thirteen year old boy that was reaped alongside her didn't have a single drop of evilness inside of him, she knew her Lana was selfless, she knew her Lana wouldn't let a child die.

And her grandmother hated it.

'I know you will help the boy. I know you will let him win. But I also know that you have a big chance to win the games, if something happens to the kid, allow yourself to mourn him for two minutes and then tell yourself to get it together and win. Otherwise all of that effort to save the boy will go to waste. You can still help the boy's family if you win.' That was the last thing her grandmother said to her before they took Lana away.

And Lana knew that if Grandma was giving you advice, you better follow it.
