It was late. Out the window, he could see the darkness unfold as the trees made faces of villains he feared so young. The branches stretch into the fingers of a witch reaching for his soul. And the darkness is a reminder of the sinister power unknown to mankind.

Shivers traveled through his spine as he stretched to blow the wind away. The beast hadn't seen him since he had confined him. A part of him missed Riki as the boy clothe and fed him. Something he wouldn't expect from the beast and wouldn't dare to pretend.

His stomach woke him from the snooze nap he took to pass the inevitable doom of his future.

It wasn't when the door clicked that his bleakness faded into fear.

The beast walked into the door. The frame was too big for the average person required he bend to gain access to the door.

Behind its eyes was a stare so hard it unsettled Choisan. He could not keep a stare for too long as their eyes connected for just a second.

His fingers tremble he couldn't tell from the breezing cold or the inevitable feeling of dread in his soul.

A styrofoam plate was placed on the bed close to where Choisan sat. On the menu, we're surprisingly human food.

Choisan remained unmoved. The beast pushed the plate closer to him. He stared back at the monster suspiciously. Perhaps sensing the look the beast grunted.

Choisan continued to refuse but the grumble of his stomach was much more honest than he was.

"Mmhm" he pushed the food even more toward him. Non suggestively but commanded him to eat.

Taking the plastic fork that he wished was metal he pierced the utensil into the spicy chicken tender. Imagining the torn flesh as the beast's own.

A raised eyebrow was earned from the aggressive play.

The taste was phenomenal compared to what he had at the camp. This development had him questioning everything he knew about the story. Could the beast be cannibalistic? Was he being fattened up for supper?
As he bite into the meat the texture felt like a raw mixture of condensed cartilage that came together to create the sweetest balanced flavor.

It felt as if he were tasting meat for the very first time.

The huge monster did not leave the room as he had expected. It stood nearby watching him munch. If Choisan was focused he would've noticed his unblinking eyes that reflected his reflection. An intensive gaze that would turn Medusa into stone.

He cleaned the plate with hunger and soon the shame began to weigh. He was always someone that couldn't refuse food. This was how he tolerated Riki for so long.

Who knew even in the face of a minter he would still be tangled with his hyper-fixations?
Choisan coughed to suppress the burp that tried to escape as his eyes searched the direction of the big giant.

"I was..."

The monster moved to silence him in fear. The thing stretched its elongated arm toward him. Choisan felt like he was going to die. He was fed like a pig in a barn ready for slaughter and like an animal he fell into the trap.

Contrary to his expectations, the monster bypassed him taking the plates he had placed on the bed. The clean silverware shined as it was wiped clean.

Without a second look, the door was shut as the beats left. Choisan couldn't deny the utter confusion that he felt but his stomach was full and his feet were against the floor.

It wasn't until later that he realized he could oddly move them.

" no way..."

He stood on his feet for the first time. A part of him dropped a tear in his soul. We take everything for granted until it's taken from us.
