Everyone stared in horror as Asuma crumbled to the ground.
Hidan's eyes rolled back.
Hidan: Oh, yes... That's it. That's the stuff...
Shikamaru: <tearing up> ASUMA!!!!
He ran forward but tripped and fell to the ground.
Genma, Nyssa, and Tayuya stared at Asuma's body from the ground.
Nyssa: No...
Hidan: I'm done over here, Kakuzu.
Genma shouted in anger as he jumped up and charged at Hidan.
However, Kakuzu intercepted him and punched him in the face. Genma flew into the ground.
Kakuzu's clone picked up (Y/N) by the neck and began to squeeze.
(Y/N) couldn't fight back. His body was completely drained. It was like his chakra had just vanished in an instant.
Just then, two people impaled Kakuzu's clone from behind with shuriken and kunai knives.
An enlarged fist came crashing down on top of the clone, destroying it.
(Y/N) was grabbed by someone and brought to safety.
Suddenly, black birds flew everywhere, surrounding Hidan and Kakuzu.
Genma, Nyssa, and Tayuya were brought over to where (Y/N), Izumo, and Kotetsu were, as was Shikamaru.
(Y/N) slowly opened his eyes and saw that Ino was holding him.
Ino: (Y/N), we're here to help.
(Y/N): I-Ino...
Choji, Aoba, and Raido stood in front of everyone.
Shikamaru: You guys...
Hidan and Kakuzu jumped out of the flock of birds.
Hidan: Meh... Even more reinforcements.
Raido: Are you guys all right?
Kotetsu: Yeah... But what about...?
Choji hurried over to Asuma's body.
Choji: Asuma-sensei!!
He took his body and jumped onto the roof of the nearby building.
Shikamaru rushed over as well and listened for a heartbeat.
Shikamaru: Choji! Rush Asuma-sensei to the Konoha hospital!! Go with him, Ino! Use your medical ninjutsu to buy as much time as you can! Hurry!!
Ino let go of (Y/N), who steadied himself on Genma as she ran to Shikamaru and Choji.
Kakuzu: You can't have the cash cow.
He landed on the roof in front of the three Chunin.
Aoba: Take Asuma and run, Shikamaru! We'll keep these two busy!
Hidan: No matter how much you resist, you're still all lambs for my slaughter.
Hidan and Kakuzu's eyes both widened, as if they were hearing something.
Hidan: Sir... I only need a little more time. We're just about to get to the hood part... But, sir! Can't you give us just a few more minutes?!
Kakuzu: Enough, Hidan.
