Vulcan had been alone in his castle for as long as he could remember. His family had been gone for years, and he had no contact with the outside world. He had everything he needed within the castle walls, but he couldn't help feeling lonely. "I am Vulcan," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "I live in this castle."

The boy's eyes widened even further. "You live here all alone?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

Vulcan nodded. "Yes. I have been alone for a very long time."

The boy's face softened with sympathy. "That must be really lonely," he said.

Vulcan shrugged. "I have everything I need here. But it would be nice to have someone to talk to."

The boy grinned. "Well, you've got me now! My name is Alex. Want to be friends?"

Vulcan was hesitant at first. He had never had a friend before, and he wasn't sure if it was safe to be friends with a human. But there was something about Alex's kind-heartedness and curiosity that drew him in.

And so, Vulcan and Alex became fast friends. Alex would come visit Vulcan every day, and they would spend hours talking about everything and anything. Alex was endlessly curious about the castle and the secrets it held, and Vulcan was happy to share his knowledge with him.
