A cloudy day, as Vulcan was walking through the gardens, he noticed a stranger approaching. As the figure drew closer, he realized that it was another angel, and that Alex seemed to know him.
"Vulcan, this is Luke," Alex said, introducing the newcomer. "We've been friends for a long time."
Vulcan couldn't help but notice the way that Alex looked at Luke. It was a look of familiarity and comfort, one that he had never seen before.
Over the next few weeks, Vulcan watched as Alex and Luke spent more and more time together. They talked endlessly about their home in the heavens, and they shared their experiences of watching over the world below.
Vulcan tried his best to be happy for Alex, but he couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy that was growing inside him. He didn't like the way that Luke seemed to be taking up so much of Alex's time, and he didn't like the way that Alex seemed to be changing.
As the days went on, Vulcan found himself becoming more and more distant from Alex. He didn't want to confront him about his jealousy, but he couldn't help feeling like he was losing him.
One evening, as they were sitting by the fire, Alex noticed Vulcan's distant demeanor. "Is something wrong?" he asked, his eyes full of concern.
Vulcan hesitated, unsure of how to put his feelings into words. Finally, he said, "I just feel like you're spending a lot of time with Luke lately. I know he's your friend, but I can't help feeling like I'm losing you."
Alex's face softened as he took Vulcan's hand. "Vulcan, you have nothing to worry about. Luke is just a friend, and you know that you're the one I love."
Vulcan felt his heart swell with relief as Alex's words sank in. He knew that he had nothing to worry about, and that Alex loved him just as much as he always had.
As the days went on, Vulcan couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Luke. He noticed the way that he would constantly interrupt their conversations, and the way that he seemed to be trying to get Alex's attention all the time.
One day, as they were walking through the gardens, Luke approached them. "Hey, guys," he said, a slick smile on his face. "Mind if I join you?"
Vulcan noticed the way that Alex tensed up at Luke's approach, and he knew that something was wrong.
As they walked together, Luke seemed to be trying to insert himself into every conversation. He would interrupt them and try to steer the conversation in his direction.
Vulcan could see that Alex was uncomfortable, but he didn't know what to do. He didn't want to cause any problems, but he also didn't want to let Luke come between them.
As the days went on, Luke continued to bother them. He would show up at their cottage unannounced, and he would try to spend all his time with them.
Vulcan couldn't shake the feeling that Luke was trying to drive a wedge between him and Alex. He didn't know what his intentions were, but he knew that he didn't like it.
One evening, as they were sitting by the fireplace, Luke showed up at their door. "Hey, guys," he said, a sly grin on his face. "Mind if I come in?"
Vulcan noticed the way that Alex tensed up, and he knew that he had to do something. "Actually, Luke, we were just about to have dinner," he said, trying to sound as diplomatic as possible.
But Luke just laughed. "Oh, come on, guys. Don't be like that. Let me join you."
Vulcan could see the way that Luke was trying to manipulate Alex, and he didn't like it one bit. He knew that he had to stand up for himself and for their relationship.
"Luke, we need to talk," Vulcan said firmly. "Alex and I need some time alone. I think it's best if you leave."
Luke's face twisted into a scowl, but he didn't argue. He simply got up and left, slamming the door behind him.
As they sat together, Vulcan could see the relief on Alex's face. He knew that he had done the right thing, and that he had protected Alex from whatever was about to happen.
