"I have something to tell you.,"said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Something that I have kept hidden from you."
Alex looked at him with concern. "What is it?" he asked.
"I am not like you," Vulcan said. "I am different. I am a vampire."
Alex's eyes widened, but he didn't seem scared. "Really?" he asked. "That's so cool! Tell me all about it!"
Vulcan was surprised by Alex's reaction. He had expected him to be afraid or disgusted. But Alex was genuinely interested in his condition. Vulcans pale face slowly started to turn to a slight shade of pink.
Vulcan told him everything. He told him about how he had been turned into a vampire by his father, who had been a vampire himself. He told him about his need for blood, and how he had found alternative sources to sustain himself. He even showed him his fangs.
Alex was fascinated by everything he heard. "That's amazing," he said. "You're like a superhero or something!"
Vulcan couldn't help but smile at his friend's enthusiasm. He had never felt so accepted in his entire life.
As the years passed, Vulcan and Alex's friendship only grew stronger. They would spend hours exploring the castle and playing games. They would watch the stars together at night and talk about their dreams.
But as Alex grew older, Vulcan began to worry about their friendship. Alex was human, and he was aging. Vulcan, on the other hand, would never age. He would be stuck in the castle forever.
One day, as they were sitting by the fireplace, Vulcan brought up his concerns. "Alex," he said. "I'm worried about what will happen to us."
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"I mean that you're getting older, and I'm not," Vulcan said. "Eventually, you'll grow old and die, and I'll still be here. I don't know what I'll do without you."
Alex's face softened with understanding. "I know," he said. "But we still have so much time together. And who knows? Maybe we'll find a way for you to leave the castle one day."
Vulcan's heart swelled with gratitude for his friend's words. He knew that Alex was right. They still had time together, and he didn't want to waste a single moment of it.
And so, they continued to live their lives in the castle, enjoying every moment they had together. They would read books and play music and dance in the halls.
