Days are passing and everything is white and black, it's pretty normal. Aside from going to my classes, I was busying myself with preparing for the PhiLSAT, I knew there was no room for imperfection. Nakagawian ko na lang din siguro 'yung ganong mindset. When I was young I noticed that Mama was happy and somehow affectionate when I get perfect scores on my exams, and when my recitals go well. But when it's the other way around, it's as if no Callista is existing, she would just say that 'Do better.'
I entered the room and saw Ynnia sitting in our usual seats. She didn't look like her face would rip like the last time. She was back to her usual self. Makulit.
She was waving at me while I was entering the room, she even shouted my name which made our block mates look in my direction. Binilisan ko na lang makarating sa tabi niya.
"Liberty! I miss you!" She hugged my arms after I settled, and I just let her cling to me.
"Walang I miss you too?" She pouted her lips while doing puppy dog eyes. I rolled my eyes at her. "Sorry na, sasamahan naman talaga kita nun, something came up lang." Pag explain niya.
The day that I talked to Louie, siya dapat kasama ko papunta sa coffee shop.
"Wala yun, okay lang." I told her as I opened my laptop trying to use my time wisely.
I saw her peeking at my screen, "Omg! You'll apply for law school?!" Ynnia's eyes were fast. Her voice was loud and I saw some people glancing our way. "Shh! Ingay naman nito," I hurriedly closed the tabs, puno kasi ng mga searches about review centers and what to prepare.
"You're looking for review centers already? Next year pa naman graduation natin." She was crossing her fingers. If I know Ynnia is always part of the dean's list din.
I wanted to keep this a secret. "Not everything is decided pa, I just thought about it but still not sure about this."
"Sorry, are you keeping this lowkey? May kilala ako mag tatake ng LAE, gusto mo hingi tayo tips after niya i-take?" She was genuine with her suggestion. I just gave her a smile and appeased her, she had the tendency to take things to heart.
We were talking since our prof had meeting, we don't know if may class ba or what but we decided to stay here. Sayang naman pinasok namin. Ynnia was asking how I am, nakita niya daw kasi story ni Louie nung magkasama kami.
"Dapat talaga sumama na ako sayo noon." She sounded so full of regret which makes me laugh kasi nga gusto niyang gawing friend si Louie. "But it was good din since mukhang minsan na lang kayo nagkakasamang tatlo.'
I scoffed, "Wala nga si Jai, he's been missing in action!" I didn't know why I sounded mad, 'di naman ako galit. I don't get angry because I respect his personal choices, malaki naman na 'sya. Ynnia was hiding a grin, I frowned at her. "Why? What's so funny?"
"Wala naman, malay mo naman kasi busy lang 'yung tao." She was still smiling sneakily. "But Louie and him were hanging out. Pero sakin di siya nag paparamdam." I rolled my eyes.
"Hmm, why don't you ask him, hindi 'yung nagmumukmok ka dyan. It's so unusual, ha."
Was I grumbling? Was it that bad? I thought I didn't care pero it's a bit suspicious, dati 'di naman siya ganyan unless he has a surprise.
"Eloy!" I shouted at Aelius who was running away from me in the middle of the hallway. The three buttons of his white polo were undone and his slightly curled hair was in his face. I was frowning hard because I knew that he was avoiding me! He knew I didn't like being ignored.
"If you take another step I will really beat your ass!" I threatened him, it made him slowly look back and come to me with his head down. He had always been taller than me but now he looks so small.
