Chloe Whitlock
Thankfully the bouncers and the bartenders here are all vampires, so I wasn't completely freaking out. We had about three hours before Reid sent her a string of nonsensical words that she read as: they're on their way. Our conversation went back to lighter topics but that last one still lingered. It stuck in the back of my mind but the flowing conversation and my general nerves of hanging out with Reid and the rest distracted me from it.
I don't honestly know how I let her convince me to do this. Every time I go out into public I am exhausted from having to constantly rein in all of my. Not to mention that I don't know how to interact with these people. Sterling, I love talking to, it's easy and relaxing. Reid and Bash I've only ever spoken to briefly in the past and it was quick hello's or goodbye's. Scarlett, I've only spoken to once and it ended with her telling me to get a therapist. She's not wrong about that one, I probably should but still wasn't a particularly great conversation. I'm nervous, they're all friends with Morgan and if that's who they're hanging out with then what are they like?
"CHLOE WHITLOCK!" I jump at Reid's booming voice walking in with his arms outstretched. Sterling rolls her eyes but her lips curl upwards as she brings her Old Fashioned to them.
"Reid!" I yell back trying to mimic his enthusiasm and Sterling chuckles.
He comes over to me and pulls me into a bear hug, spinning me around then setting me back down. "Chloe fucking Whitlock, is out with us right now." He looks over his shoulder at Bash and Scarlett lightly stumbling in, hand in hand. "Bash, can you believe it?"
"Chloe fucking Whitlock!" He cheers and I stand thoroughly confused and unsure what to do. "Sterling has been talking nonstop about you." I look to Sterling who shoots him a sharp glare but her cheeks turn a subtle red.
"She has?" I question. She sips her drink casually but she's flustered and I can't help my small grin.
"Five." Reid says to the bartender behind us quickly turning to me. "Oh so much. Someone has a little crush-."
"I will break all of your ribs." Sterling snaps at him.
Reid looks down to me with a big smile- damn he's tall. "She has done that before."
"And I'll do it again."
He smiles even wider looking between me and Sterling. "Oh this is great, you two look great." Reid starts to hand out the shots to everyone. "Chloe, I know you like champagne," his eyes flick over to Sterling then back to me, "but I hope you also like tequila." He says handing me mine.
"I do."
He holds up his shot glass and we all meet his, "To the last night."
Bash gives a few cheerful shouts as we all repeat, "To the last night," clinking our glasses together and taking back the shots. I involuntarily shudder at the harsh taste.
"Or really not the last night but of Ascension at least." Reid corrects himself, "Chloe, you staying tomorrow too?" He says walking over to the lounge area with the big sapphire blue couches, matching the aesthetic of the private bar- all grays and blacks and sapphire accents.
We all follow him, taking seats on the couch. "I think I am, yeah." Sterling sits next to me on one of the loveseats placing her hand around my shoulder. Bash and Scarlett sit across from us on the corresponding loveseat, while Reid puts his feet up lying on the long couch.
Sterling turns to me, "Come out with us!" Reid shouts before Sterling could say anything.
"I was going to suggest that at a lower volume." She laughs.
