Welcome to Children of the Fallen: In Cold Blood!
This is book two in this series so if you haven't read the first one I suggest you do unless you're cool with being slightly confused then have at it.
I hope you enjoy the second installment- If you haven't seen face claims and want to, check out the second "chapter" of the first book- if not then continue on. I'll have another face claim chapter for the new characters probably right after this one.
*** WARNING: There is a lot more violence and murder in this book so be prepared. There are also sex and sexual scenes.
Enjoy!

19 Years Later
The large metal doors to my throne room groan as I yank them open and storm in. "Morgan!" I yell.
Where the fuck is she?
She's not in her room and I've searched the majority of the front of my palace. I don't know where she disappeared to doing God knows what.
"Morgan!"
Under normal circumstances, she's at her palace right outside Chicago ruling out of there and over the general middle/ northern part of the United States. However, unfortunately Lucien is hosting Ascension this year and he decided to use my palace to host it. I'm dreading the absolute headache this is all going to be. For a week straight, a bunch of Fallen and their children making messes that I'm going to have to clean up. I'm still bringing bleeders into my palace- I mean the sheer number of humans I've had to allow past the barrier into my city these past few weeks is ridiculous and even still it wont be enough for them. They'll all go out and fuck around in my city or any part of my territory for that matter- I can't even imagine what New York City's going to be like.
The royals all leave their most trusted nobles in charge for the week to just party, have meetings, and brag. It's a week long dick swinging contest.
Who's better at being a king or a queen? Who's a better vampire? Who's a better parent?
I'll answer the last one: none of them.
In preparation to arrange things the way he likes, Lucien came down two days prior. He made the lovely choice to force Morgan and Grayson to come as well.
Having to deal with Lucien over the phone or in brief visits is bad enough, but for a week straight as he micromanages my city? I'd rather chew on shards of glass.
Since he's arrived I've been subjected to dinners with him in the nights prior to Ascension. Pierce was explicitly not invited to any dinners because Lucien didn't want to look at the "'thing' that made me this weak." Disappointed but not surprised that I wouldn't have him there with me and here I was hoping Morgan would help me out and entertain Lucien, she is his favorite.
But no, she's done the opposite actually. Consistently leaving me alone with him and Grayson. She'll show up for a respectable amount of time so Lucien won't tear her head off then leaves as soon as possible after fiercely ignoring Grayson the whole time. I don't think she's even looked at him, she's pretending he doesn't exist but if I didn't know any better it'd be like he actually doesn't exist to her. Grayson won't stop bothering me about wherever Morgan is. I know he wants to see her but she most certainly doesn't. She hasn't seen him since her coronation 15 years ago and clearly she doesn't want to start now.
