The party had just started, a simple ball with an all white theme. Last time I checked white symbolizes purity and every soul here is anything but. Maybe it's to be ironic. I stay in the corner of the room avoiding eye contact and conversations. Graysons doing as I told him to- not speak to me. I generally don't want to talk to him but also I don't want anyone to see the two of us talking together and be suspicious. I doubt they would draw a conclusion like that but with these people you never know.
As I people watch I notice Graysons eyes constantly on Morgan, gazing at her longingly. He wants her back, or whatever they had back- I'm not really sure. He won't say it, he'll say he only wants to apologize to her and talk to her but his eyes tell a different story. He looks at her like she's not... who she is, like she's still the Morgan we knew. I don't know, maybe that doesn't matter to him, she is stunning but he can't be thinking with his dick right now. He's an idiot but he's an idiot I'm working with and if he fucks this all up because of his inane attachment to her I'll kill him.
Victoria and Pierce came up to me a few minutes ago and we had a short conversation. She asked about last night with Sterling and I was pretty excited to tell her about it. I was excited to have someone to tell about it but as quickly as it came I stomped out that excitement for myself. Bringing myself down to my neutral state. She asked if I'd join her at Zade's bar again, I said okay but I'm going to need some help with what is sure to be a lot of blood around me. She assured me she'd make sure nothing happens which I appreciate.
Victoria got called away by Lucien to join in his and Morgan's conversation with Fleur. I unfortunately made eye contact with Morgan, I rolled my eyes and quickly turned away but that didn't stop the hair on the back of my neck from standing up. I wait for Sterling to enter, her and Reid and Bash are normally fashionably late. While I stand and wait, Kendrick and Henry exit the ballroom. Since the attack I've been keeping a closer eye on him. With him being exposed for his attempts at killing Morgan and having Lucien try to blame him for the attack, he's been on edge and much quieter than he normally is. He might not know me but I know him, he lashes out when he's backed into a corner and right now he's in a corner. He was taken back when Lucien said what he said, I heard his heart rate flutter for only a moment- almost imperceptible but as someone who memorized those flutters out of necessity- he was shocked and angered.
I don't know what happened at the Fallen meeting last night but based on the fact that Kendrick wasn't surrounded by anyone other than Henry, Vaughn, and Evie, that leads me to believe that whatever was discussed didn't swing in his favor. At the same time however, given that he wasn't kicked out, I don't think they've blamed him for the attack. That argument still goes on. Good.
I trail the two of them until they arrive at the throne room. He mumbles something barely detectable to Henry but I pick up on the name 'Grayson' being said. He pats him on the shoulder before turning around. As fast as possible I sprint down the hallway to get out of sight. With Kendrick heading back in the ballroom, Henry makes his way down the various hallways in Victorias palace. He eventually gets down to the cells where I begin to hear Graysons screams and bones breaking in the distance. Henry stops at a closet rummaging through it and emerges with a crow bar.
When Henry stops in front of the cell Grayson's in I hide behind the corner, thankful for the various other prisoners making sounds in their respective cell rooms. I peek around the corner to Henry opening up the door and stepping through. "What do you want?" Graysons grunts through heavy pained breathing.
"Just need you to be the animal that you are." Henry says coolly then I hear the sound of metal groaning and concrete breaking.
"What are you doing?! What-." Grayson shouts get cut off by a bone audibly snapping. More and more metal and concrete breaks then finally Henry walks out of the room, using his enhanced speed to leave quickly. As soon as I know he's gone I sprint into the cell.
