And That Day...
Part- 4
“Are you okay?” Aashi said while facing an odd phase of the hall.
Mishika came running after Aashi from her room. She was not able to move after seeing the weird behaviour of Aashi. Aashi didn’t stop talking to the air and Mishika was not able to understand that was it just Aashi’s imaginary friend, like mostly happens because of the loneliness she was feeling from so many days or that voice which Mishika heard on the stairs had something to do with this.
“Aashi...” Mishika called her slowly.
Aashi waved her hand a bit, trying to make her understand that she needs to wait. She continued her conversation, which was not clearly audible to Mishika from that distance but she was not able to move ahead.
“Aashiiii....” Mishika stressed a bit while pronouncing her name.
Aashi turned to look at her, a little irritated by the constant poking.
“To whom you are talking?” Mishika asked.
Mishika was scared. She kept on looking here and there, as if trying to figure out the answer to the question herself, which she asked to Aashi.
“Grandma... SShhhh...” Aashi said and placed a finger on lips.
Mishika was trying to hear the voice of the unknown face to which Aashi was talking but she was not able to hear anything very clear like earlier. She thought that maybe she was just over thinking and nothing peculiar like that was in picture.
“You know I have three new friends now.” Aashi said and signalled three, from her little fingers.
“Their names.... Ok I will tell you”
“Alankrita, Sanchita and Chiraag.” Aashi said while counting on her fingers.
Mishika was walking close to her. She wanted to know that as to whom Aashi was talking with such ease but the voice was echoing in her mind. She knew the voice of her mother in law and she couldn’t mistake in recognizing it.
She bent down on her knees to face Aashi. She smiled towards her and turned her face a bit to look in Aashi’s eyes. She was appearing happy and cheered. Mishika didn’t see that much spark on Aashi’s face since so many days.
“To whom you are talking Aashi?” Mishika asked while cupping Aashi’s face in her palms.
“I already told you na, Grandma.” Aashi said and pointed towards a resting chair which Akshat brought two years ago for his mother.
“Sweetheart, sweetheart, here listen to me.” Mishika said while trying to turn Aashi’s face away from that chair.
“What mom?”
“There is no one on that chair.” Mishika said in a monotonic tone, trying to hide her anxiety.
“Oh ho.... Can’t you see grandma...?” Aashi said while walking to reach near the chair.
She was waving at someone and then jumped a bit to sit on the chair. The next moment was the heaviest for Mishika. She was seeing her daughter, not on the base of the chair but slightly above, in the air. She fell on the floor, unconscious....
Are the fears of Mishika true?
Will Aashi be fine?
And how will Akshat react to all this?
Stay tuned to know... :)
