And That Day...
Part- 6
Both of them were looking obnoxiously towards Aashi, waiting for her to speak, but she was lost in looking at the air, situated near the chair of her grandma. Mishika was tensed on seeing the same but Akshat didn't think much over it, for him it was like an off mood of Aashi which was not allowing her to speak openly. He tried to turn her face towards him but she applied a lot of force to keep on looking in the opposite direction.
"Aashi, look here dear." Akshat said with a lot of affection
Aashi turned her face towards her father but she was constantly turning her face after every second. Akshat gave a puzzled look to Mishika but she was calm because she knew the reason behind her constant turns.
"Aashi... listen to me." Akshat said while holding Aashi with a tight grip, not allowing her to turn.
"Dad... let me go." Aashi said and resisted her father's strong grip.
"I will, first tell me who was talking with you?" He asked again.
"Grandma."
After Aashi said the name of Akshat's mother, he released the grip to let her go. He was stunned to hear his mother's name after so many days. To him it was like a pinch on his wounds by his own daughter. He was looking at Mishika. Both of them were wearing blank looks on their faces. Akshat tried to compose himself a bit because he was seeing the love of his life, Mishika, completely shattered.
"What is she saying?" He tried to form the most basic query which struck his mind first.
"She is saying the same thing since afternoon." Mishika said while holding her head in her hands.
"You know the concept of imaginary friends." Akshat asked, while holding Mishika's hands.
"I know that but...." Mishika stopped in the middle of the sentence.
"But??" Akshat said.
"I heard some voices on the stairs today." She said.
"So..."
"The voice resembled to your mother's voice."
"You must have mistaken."
"I can't mistake, Aashi confirmed things too. I have something more to tell you."
"And what is it?"
Mishika looked at that chair and remembered the incidence which happened some hours back. She was thinking that as to how she will explain the same things to Akshat which she saw.
"Speak up."
"I saw Aashi near that chair, she was in air, as if sitting on something, like earlier times, when she used to sit on your mother's lap."
"What nonsense?"
"I am saying the truth. Please believe me. Your mom is in our house."
"For god sake, shut up."
Mishika was feeling alone because her only hope was on her husband but she was having this faith that maybe he won't understand these things verbally. She herself wouldn't have believed that if her husband would be narrating the same incidents. Akshat sat where Mishika was lying some moments ago. The wounds were green again and he was in tears on the remembrance of his mother in such a way. He lost his balance for some while....
Will Akshat be able to believe things?
Were these things really substantial?
Or just an imaginary trauma of Aashi?Stay tuned to know... :)
