And That Day...

Part- 3

Mishika was not able to move from her place for a second. She knew that the known yet unknown voice which she heard was of Akshat’s mother, her mother in law but her rational mind was not allowing her to believe the same.

“What?” Mishika said.

“Grandmaa.” Aashi said again while pointing towards the vacuum nearby.

Mishika was constantly staring the place but nothing she saw, nothing more she heard but she felt the heaviness nearby, as if there was a change. She was dumbstruck for some seconds. She slowly moved ahead and held Aashi’s hand and tried to make her rise, while continuously inspecting the area. Her eyes were cold as if water of her lids just froze inside. Aashi resisted her mother’s want. She wanted to stay there, near her grandmother, after all the only pain for Aashi since last one month was the absence of this lady only.

“I want to be with her.” Aashi said and tried to run, but Mishika held her from her leg and pulled her to take a hold on her arm.

When the tug o war was over, Mishika picked Aashi in her arms and ran from there.

“Grandmaa... Grandmaa...” Aashi continued yelling from behind but Mishika didn’t wait for a second and ran towards her room. She closed the door and held Aashi very close to her.

“Mom leave me, please leave me, she came after so many days. I need to tell her about my new friends at school, just leave.” Aashi continued pleading and tried to release herself from the grip of her mother.

“SShhhhhh.... ssshhhhh....” Mishika was not able to speak anything. She was just trying to calm herself down before hearing to what her daughter had in store for her.

After some time....

Mishika was lying on the bed; Aashi was close to her, asleep. Mishika’s eyes were numb; her brain was not allowing her to sleep. She was noticing her daughter, calm, poised and serene she appeared but her talks were still horrifying Mishika. She summed up all her courage and then called her husband. She tried to call him but was not able to.

“What I will tell him?” She asked to herself in soft voice and banged the phone slowly on her forehead.

Yes, what will she tell her husband, that she and her daughter are experiencing the presence of his mother in the surrounding? Will he be able to believe the thing? Very hard.

“Huh huh, mom, mom....” Mishika heard Aashi’s scream when she was in a deep slumber.

“What happened? Susshhh sussshhh... calm down.” Mishika said while taking her daughter in her arms.

“Mom, Grandma is falling from the roof, hold her hand.” Aashi yelled and in the other minute a deep bang was heard.

Mishika was really scared on hearing that loud roar outside their house. She was terrified to death. Meanwhile, Aashi ran to reach the hall, in order to find her Grandma, if possible. Mishika keep on yelling Aashi’s name from behind.

“Aashi, Aashi, come back right now.” Mishika said and ran behind her....

The presence of a soul in the house is not normal to feel.
The indications were quite clear but still Mishika was not allowing herself to trust on that, though she was not able to think anything else then the voice she heard.
What more is up?
