A pale crescent moon shone in the deep night on the youngster. The young man next to him smiled and patted the shoulder of the boy sleeping in the passenger seat. ¨Jungwon?¨ he called out. The sleeping boy opened his eyes only to close them again.
Jay chuckled softly and turned his gaze back to the road ahead. They were driving through a quiet, deserted stretch of road, with nothing but the soft hum of the car engine and the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind coming through the open windows.
As they continued driving, Jay spoke again, his voice low and soothing. "We are almost there, Jungwon."
Jungwon nodded sleepily, rubbing his eyes before settling back into his seat. He gazed out the window, watching the trees and fields blur past, mesmerized by the moon's pale light.
It wasn't long before they finally arrived at Jungwon's apartment. Jungwon got out of the car, and his gaze went straight to the documents in his hand. "I will go now," Jay said to him before leaving for his own house.
Jungwon sighed after seeing him leave just like that. Was he expecting something? It's not like they are a real married couple, it's just a fake marriage. What can Jungwon even expect?
After a second, his gaze went back to the documents in his hand that they just got a few hours ago. "Is it real?" he asked himself.
Jungwon stood there for a moment, staring deep at the documents in his hand. He couldn't believe that he had actually married Jay, his crush from 3 years ago.
He walked up the steps to his apartment, fumbling with his keys as he tried to unlock the door. Once inside, he collapsed onto his couch, the documents still clutched tightly in his hand.
He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in his stomach. Was this really the right thing to do? What if things get too complicated and he can't hide his feelings anymore?
With a lot of questions in his head, Jungwon closed his eyes for a while before he went deep into sleep.
¨Wake your fucking ass up, Bitch!¨ all of sudded, yelling voice was heard in a quiet room. The voice for sure belonged to no other than Kim Sunoo.
Jungwon opened his eyes slowly as he thought, Is it already morning? The sun was visible through the open windows in the living room. Jungwon rubbed his eyes with his fingers, ¨What time did you go to sleep last night?¨ Sunoo asked while he sat down on the couch next to his friend.
Jungwon squinted his eyes, thinking what time he went to sleep. He thought for quite a while before answering, "Ugh, maybe 1 or 2 am......, I don't quite remember- and what are you doing?"
Sunoo rolled his eyes,¨Do I need a reason to visit my now married friend?¨
Jungwon also rolled his eyes at the word 'married'. Well, he is married now, correct? Even if it's fake. He got up from the couch and went to the bathroom to wash up. As he brushed his teeth, his mind went to Jay and that unanswered question. The question Jungwon asked yesterday, but Jay avoided answering.
Does Jay like anyone? Does he still like her? If he did then why did he not marry her but chose someone else, a complete stranger. Was marrying a stranger a better option than marrying her?
Jungwon could not understand anything. He splashed cold water on his face. Water drained from his eyelashes and brows. No-one could see those little tears draining from his face with the water. Was he crying? ¨S-Sunoo,¨ he called out with his soft, low voice.
Jungwon ran out of the bathroom and went straight to find his best friend, Sunoo who was still sitting on the couch. He hugged Sunoo tightly, making his shoulder a little wet because of his tears.
