Queen of Kings

Steve was holding Kayla close, swaying  with her to a song that was playing. The two were the only ones in the Penthouse at the moment, the other two had gone to the common floor to raid the ice cream. He enjoyed the way she fit against him, the way she always seemed to press that tiny infinitesimal bit closer in his arms.

Kayla was simply enjoying the feeling of being in Steve's arms, feeling the bond that had developed between them. It usually was blocked off by her but she allowed it to blossom open right now. "You'll be able to find me anywhere with this. Even if you just want to check on me. One will develop between Bucky and us soon. It's already started. And once Tony allows us to change him, we'll gain one with him."

"Wish I would have known this before." Steve mumbled softly. He wasn't happy that he hadn't known.

"I know. We were in the pocket realm and rarely separated so I never thought about it. And then we've been so busy since arriving back on Earth, it slipped my mind. I've been very distracted." She admitted, kissing his lips. The little bit of affection earned her a half smile.

"Yeah I suppose. But we need to let the other two know." Steve sighed softly. He mentally added it to the list of important things to discuss.

"Of course. They need to know. It's important." Kayla just leaned into Steve's chest again. She could feel the way his magic reached out to mix with her and smiled.

"Oi! No PDA without us." Tony yelled jokingly as he came in, Bucky behind him carrying their pillaged ice cream.

"Well get over here then. Then we can have ice cream." Kayla teased back. She held a hand out to the other two.

Bucky carefully stowed the ice cream before coming back to join the cuddle huddle. He made sure Kayla and Tony were tucked between him and Steve, the Soldiers automatically taking a protective positioning. "Anything else we gotta talk about?"

"Uh. Well. Steve and I have a mental bond. And you're slowly forming on with us too. And Tony would if he let me change him." Kayla directed a pout at the genius who kissed her softly.

"I'll give you an answer soon. I promise." Tony had a feeling deep in his bones that they were it for him. That he was meant to be with them and for someone who didn't believe in things like that, it was huge. However he still wanted to make sure his friends would be okay if he did decide to be changed.

"Thank you, Honey." The Deity beamed at her genius and then teleported free from the cuddle pile. She laughed as they toppled over at the unexpected loss of her. They had all been leaning together and she had managed to upset the balance.

"That was cruel." Bucky grumbled, currently squashed under Steve and Tony both. He kicked Steve's foot away from him and managed to worm his way free. "Steve, get up. You're gonna kill Tony. Get up, you big lug."

Steve rolled off of Tony and glared at Bucky. "I was working on it." He carefully helped their genius up, making sure he wasn't actually hurt.

"Ice cream." Kayla bounced off into the kitchen, looking much happier than she had in a while. The talks had given her a sense of relief. Her Family was okay and no one was angry.

"I CALL THE ROCKY ROAD!" Bucky hollered after a moment, running into the kitchen to rescue his Rocky Road Ice Cream. He was rather fond of it and he tended to hoard the cartons when it was bought.
