(taking a little detour to the future)(Also dubious ethics here)(And I'm really not vibing with this story anymore.)

Kayla held a baby, sitting on a rocking chair that she had had a sudden urge to ask James to make for her (from the local furniture store but still). Clearly the urge had come from the Fates as she now had a good reason to want it. Her grey green eyes held an intense look as she focused on the tiny infant that had appeared on their doorstep of one of Tony's vacation homes. The baby held some sort of Magic in his soul, a magic that had reached for the Deity's as soon as the birth mother had left. None of the men were home, having gone to celebrate Sam Wilson's last day before getting married to Sharon Carter. Sam had chosen a during the day celebration because he liked to go to bed early before important things.

The baby in Kayla's arms yawned, settling in her arms and grasping one of her fingers when she stroked his palm. He had been fed a bottle from the formula that had been left for him. Kayla had wrinkled her nose at the smell but had wanted to make sure he was okay. The baby had cried from being hungry so she had fed him.

Kayla had sent a message to her men over text, not wanting to alarm them. 'Need you guys to come home. Have a surprise for you.' She would have used the Bond if it was world ending important. This said it was important but not vital to existence.

'Be there soon. Things are wrapping up anyways.' Tony responded in the group chat. This was followed by Bucky sending a thumbs up. Steve didn't answer of course, probably feeling that it was rude.

It took about half an hour for them to arrive, the trio stopping as they took in the sight of the baby. Steve could see the desperate longing in their wife's eyes.  She wanted a baby so very badly. They had been discussing it but plans had been put on hold when they had heard Thanos had been searching for the Stones.

Steve moved first, crossing the room to lean down and hug her, one hand gently coming up to cup the tiny baby's head. It felt so right and he knew his expression had changed to one that matched hers. They both wanted to start a family. To have children.

"Where did you find a baby?" Tony looked like he was going to freak out. He logically knew she wouldn't kidnap a baby but he was still worried.

"He was left on the doorstep. He has magic in him." Kayla's voice was barely a whisper. "Can you feel it?"

"I can. It's like... Like a little tiny pull at something in me. I wouldn't notice if I wasn't looking for it." Steve looked confused for a moment.

"He was abandoned on our doorstep?" Bucky frowned, stepping closer. "That's a trick that's used to get people in trouble."

"No. It was definitely his biological Mother who left him. She was afraid of him." Kayla spat out quietly, eyes sharp at the moment. She had felt the woman's fear and loathing of the baby. "She didn't want him."

"It's okay, Sweetheart. We'll figure this out." Steve soothed and kissed her softly. He gave Bucky and Tony a Look. It promised a private conversation.

"Well. We need to figure out when to contact the Authorities or if we are." Tony decided and sat near his lovers.

"They would want to take him." Bucky pointed out, seeing the way their Wife clutched the baby tighter. She clearly did not want to give up the baby.

"Well what if he has family other than his biological mother? They could be looking for him." Tony sighed softly. He didn't want to hurt their wife but they needed to do things the right way.

"Then why didn't anyone think to make sure that he was okay?" Kayla snapped, eyes glimmering with tears. She wanted a Baby so badly and it had seemed like a miracle to have one left on their doorstep. "He's not being taken care of. Babies should be much more plump, not stick thin."

"Sometimes things happen." Tony knew that wasn't going to work, seeing the way her eyes seemed to close off from him. It hurt a bit to have her ire turned on him. "But that baby could have other family that didn't know."

"It's okay, Sugar." Steve murmured softly, stroking Kayla's long hair and staying close. "No one's gonna take the baby."

Bucky took Tony to another room. "Clearly we underestimated her desire for a baby. I've never seen her like that."

"Me either... It's worrying." Tony admitted, stepping into Bucky's space and sighing as the taller man wrapped his arms around him. "And Steve is enabling it."

"She saved him from being frozen in the Arctic, Doll. She was his first in all ways that matter. So he's a little overprotective and overindulgent." Bucky swayed with Tony in his arms. "He'll give her whatever she wants when it comes to something huge like this."

"I just want to do things right. Say we don't call the authorities and someone manages to take a picture and his biological family goes HEY that's our baby." Tony explained softly.

"Well... There's no use talking about it right now. Not when she's defensive and Steve's feeling overprotective." Bucky's fingers gently trailed down Tony's spine. He was trying to keep the peace for the moment. "Let's give them a few hours."

"Okay." Tony nodded simply and just leaned into Bucky. He was tired of arguing and just wanted things to settle. Their discussion could wait for now. "Take me to bed?"

"Any time." Bucky's eyes darkened to a stormy grey. He easily lifted Tony and carried the genius to the master bedroom. He had the perfect stress relief in his mind.
