Might Not Like Me

"That is the ugliest cat I have ever seen." Bucky squinted at the huge monstrosity that his girlfriend was cuddling.

"He is not! He's adorable." Kayla scowled, petting the ragged looking tom cat. He was fluffy but his face was scarred and his ear was torn. He had eerie orange eyes that seemed to glow from his dark fur. "He's a precious sweetheart. Unlike you."

Bucky just turned and went to the workshop. He couldn't believe she had actually brought home such an ugly cat. "Your girlfriend brought a monster home."

"She brought what home?" Tony squinted after he turned off his blow torch and pushed his welding mask up. He was a bit apprehensive at what their girlfriend had brought home. It was always scary when Bucky came in with ominous statements like that.

"An ugly fluffball she calls a cat." Bucky sulked and hugged Tony. "It's so goddamn ugly and evil looking. And she says it's a precious sweetheart unlike me." He sounded truly offended.

"Aw, babe." Tony was amused at the sight of the assassin sulking. "But a cat? Let me see it, J."

JARVIS projected a live feed from the living room, making sure to choose angles that showed all of the cat. He also 'thought' the cat was atrocious looking.

"Holy shit that thing looks like roadkill." Tony swore. He agreed that it was super ugly. "Where did she even find it?"

"Lady Kayla located the cat via a friend." JARVIS informed them.

"Steve will make her see we can't keep it." Tony decided. He had a hard time saying no to her. "Also, she has friends?"

"Tony!" Bucky sighed. He was amused though, scooping Tony up and kissed him thoroughly. The Soldier decided Tony was more important than the cat currently and wanted to worship the genius' body.

Steve came home from his run and stared at the cat. "Sweetheart? Where did this small lion come from?"

"He's a cat. And my friend." Kayla beamed, making banana bread. "Isn't he beautiful?" She may have decided to play up her affection for the fluffy cat.

"Uh… Sure?" Steve personally thought the cat was hideous but he didn't want to hurt Kayla's feelings. He went to go take a shower and came back, humming to himself.

Kayla was letting the cat explore now, looking like she was wearing a fur dress from all the cat fur that had come off the beast. She had been wearing a grey dress that was now decorated with black fur. The deity laughed happily as the cat investigated under the couch.

"Love you." Steve hummed softly, kissing his girlfriend. If the ugly cat made her happy then so be it. He wasn't going to deny her anything.

"I love you very much." Kayla beamed brightly at her lover.

"Here you go." Kayla handed the cat over to his owner. "He's been a lovely houseguest."

"Thank you so very much." Eliza beamed and took her fluffy monstrosity. She had been on vacation and had asked Kayla to watch him.

"He isn't staying?" Tony grinned, coming off the elevator. He was honestly relieved to see it go. The cat creeped him out on many levels.

"Nope." Eliza took her cat onto the elevator to go home.

"Bout time." Bucky practically tackled Kayla, kissing her enthusiastically. He hated the cat having the Deity's attention.

Tony pulled them to the bedroom to celebrate the freedom from annoying furry guests. He knew Steve would be happy to hear about the exit of the animal. He knew the blond only tolerated the cat for their girlfriend.
