Steve was watching Bucky and Kayla bickering, both of them gesturing wildly. He really wasn't even sure what had started the disagreement. He had been out for a jog in the woods and they had been fine when he left.

Tony was gone for another business trip, a final one before he stepped back as the Head of R&D at Stark Industries. He had left just two hours before Steve had gone for his jog.

"Woah woah. Hey. Let's calm down." Steve stepped in once Kayla's hair started waving in a non-existent breeze. It meant her powers were close to releasing unexpectedly. The blond moved between them and looked at them. "What is going on?"

"I'm not talking about it." Bucky stormed off, eyes looking stormy. He was pissed off and he had no desire to be there at the moment. As soon as he made it outside, he shifted to the massive white wolf form he preferred and started to just run.

"Fine! Be a coward, James!" Kayla shouted at Bucky's retreating back as she leaned around Steve to look at the other man. Her eyes were dark and grey at the moment.

"Hey now. Let's calm down, Honey." Steve wrapped his arms around her. He knew Bucky needed space at the moment. "What's wrong?"

"It's between me and James." Kayla snapped before immediately looking remorseful. She didn't want to hurt Steve's feelings. "I'm sorry."

"Oh, Sugar." Steve rested his chin on her head and swayed slightly. He hated that his lovers were fighting and he couldn't fix it. "Bucky can be hard to love sometimes, Sweetheart. Things can build up with him until he explodes. I love you..."

"I love you too." Her whole face crumpled, eyes wet with unshed tears. A hiccuping sob broke free from her chest and she pressed into Steve.

"Shh." Steve knew Bucky had been off lately and that something had been bothering him. The blond felt like he should have made Bucky tell him what was wrong but hadn't. Steve wasn't really sure what to do at the moment, trying to calm the woman down futilely.

Bucky returned after four hours, fur tangled and covered with pine needles and other forest debris. He entered through the sliding door that opened with the push of his snout on a button. He didn't feel like being in his human form.

Kayla was watching from the doorway, wringing her hands anxiously. She locked eyes with Bucky and waited, clearly wanting to go to him. She cried when he moved over to her. "I'm sorry!"

Bucky licked her arm and nudged her until she knelt down. He just huffed and wrapped his huge furry body around her. 'I'm sorry too, Doll.' He was using a telepathic bond to communicate.

The goddess curled against the wolf, carefully picking the twigs and leaves from his coat. She was very thorough as she did, relaxing once her self appointed task was done. "I love you so much."

'I love you too. I didn't mean to bottle things up and then explode.' Bucky shifted back to human form, not caring that he was naked. He kissed his girlfriend and held her tight. She felt impossibly small and frail in his arms, no sign of the power that ran through her body. "It wasn't your fault."

"I should have backed off when you told me to." Kayla whispered, face pressed to Bucky's bare chest. Tears were still tracing paths down her cheeks silently.

"Oh, Doll. You just wanted to help." Bucky rubbed her arm a bit and kissed the top of her head. "Is Stevie okay?"

"He's in the gym." Kayla knew Steve was working his anxiety out on a punching bag. "He's very worried about you."

"And you." Bucky added, standing with her in his arms. He carried her through the house, not wanting to set her down. They went to the room that had been converted to a gym for them. "Steve."

"Bucky! Kayla!" Steve paused in his steady punching and caught the swinging bag. His hair was soaked with sweat and he was panting a bit. He could do this for days but his emotions had wound him up to this point. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah. Things are okay now." Bucky nodded, ruffling Steve's hair and then making a face. "What did you do? Dunk your head in a toilet?"

"Nah. That's what happens when you work out." Steve shook his head and sprayed sweat on them. He was happy that everything was okay.

"Ew. That's gross." Kayla laughed, wiping her face on Bucky's skin to dry it.

"You've had worse in your mouth and on your face." Steve reminded her, lips quirking slightly. He had gotten much less shy about talking about sexual things.

"Hush." Kayla snickered, looking at Steve and then at Bucky. She walked over and licked Steve's face, not even flinching. She was playfully asserting dominance. "But yes. Much worse."

"That's gross." Bucky squinted. He had no desire to see her repeat that. It was disgusting to him.

"I've been licked." Steve just sounded baffled. It was weird and he wasn't sure how to react. It wasn't something she did on the regular.

"Yep. And I'd do it again too." Kayla flashed a grin and then skipped out of the room. She was giving them a chance to talk without her present.

Bucky moved closer to Steve, kissing him with a desperate noise. He knew he had scared the shit out of the blond man and it hurt him. He NEEDED to make it up to Steve. "I'm sorry, Stevie."

"I thought you wouldn't come back." Steve still had anxiety about being separated from Bucky. He kissed Bucky repeatedly and held onto him tightly.

"I won't leave like that. I wouldn't just disappear." Bucky promised, looking at Steve protectively. "Not like that."

"Thank you." Steve relaxed, pressing into Bucky's bare body. He looked at Bucky like he was an angel and that Steve was looking for redemption.

Bucky just grumbled and kissed Steve's forehead. He missed when Steve was smaller than him because it was easier to hold the blond. But he didn't miss all of Steve's health problems. He made a mental note to talk about an idea he had with his lovers. He thought it would be fun for all of them.
