°•Brietta's POV•°

I never realized how many pictures Jonathan had taken of me until now, as we go through every one of them to find a decent one of Will for the missing poster. I wanted to ask him about it, but I didn't have the heart to do so.

"Bitch!" Mrs Byers yells, slamming the phone on it's hook, after trying to get ahold of her jackass of an ex husband.

"Mom!"

"What?" She asks a bit annoyed.

"You have to stay calm." Jonathan says in a calmly manner, but I knew he was far from calm, placing my hand on his thigh reassuring him that I'm there, if they need my help with anything at all. Even if I can be a little bit of support to hold them up, then I'll be the strong one for them.

Mrs Byers took a breathe in and out, deep breaths as she calms herself down, taking the phone in her hand again, she calls the man again.

"Lonnie, some teenager just hang up on me. Will is... is missing. I don't know where he is...."

My eyes wandered to the window, when I saw the Chief's car driving into their driveway. I tap Jonathan, pointing out the window when he looked at me.

"Mom!" he calls out.

"What?"

"Cops." I state.

Mrs Byers ran outside immediately, only to see the Chief taking out Will's bike from his vehicle.

Jonathan and I stood aside as they came looking through the house for the youngest Byers, Will's bike was found laying in the forest somewhere nearby.

"It was just laying there?" Mrs Byers asks confused.

"Yeah."

Hopper wasn't in any sort of mood for a conversation, it was written all over his face, "Just out of curiosity, if you found the bike out there, what are you doing here?" I question him, my eyebrows raised for effect.

"Well he had a key to the house, right?" Hopper asks Mrs Byers ignoring my question completely.

"Yeah."

"So maybe he came home." Hopper states, he sounded so sure of that fact.

"You think I didn't check my own house?" Mrs Byers asks, frustrated.

"I'm not saying that. Has this always been here?" Hopper points to marks on one of the kitchen walls.

"What? I don't know. Probably. I mean I have two boys, look at this place." she says looking around the house to indicated her point, there were holes and scratches all over the house.

"You're not sure?"

I was getting fed up with the older man, he was suppose to be doing his job, looking for Will, not questioning an anxious mother about holes and marks on her wall.

Molly, their dog they've had since she was a baby started barking heavily at the back, all the adults ran out of the house, to investigate what she was barking at in the backyard.

"I am so close to punch that guy in the face, so damn close." I state, with my fist in the air, dramatically falling on the couch. "Woah there tiger, you can't really hit the Chief." Jonathan says, shaking his head chuckling in amusement. "Chief my ass." I mumble under my breath, closing my eyes for a bit.

Jonathan fell on the couch next to me, a sigh escaping through his lips. I rested my head on his shoulder, he took my hand, and started drawing comforting circles on the back of it, moments like these I kept close in my memories, the smallest of gestures that always made my heart flutter.

"Will is gonna be okay, he's one of the smartest and bravest boys I know, we'll find him," I say, as my mind went to the boy, wondering where he could be, but for some reason I was able to feel him in the house, it was so confusing, because there was no way he could be here, we've checked the entire house, every nook and cranny we've checked.

I was scared, of what might be happening to Will and at the same time, I was over the moon having Jonathan by my side.

Later during the day, I decided to put together something for dinner, I believed that the two Byers needed their strength now more than ever, from where I was standing cutting carrots, I was able to hear their conversation.

"Tell me. Tell me. Come on. You can...." Mrs Byers begs Jonathan to open up to her.

"No. It's just... I should've been there for him," Jonathan says sadly, feeling a lot of guilt. My tears tried escaping, I didn't like seeing either of them in this state, it broke my heart, turning to the stove so they can't see the tears running down my face, leaving them to their conversation, which they probably both needed, wiping the tears from my face.

The ringing of the phone, rang through out the house, it made me jump, it was quite unexpected. A familiar darkness, it's presence was close it made the hairs in the back of my neck stand up. I couldn't see anything that would tell me what it is, or what it could possibly be, but it was close. Mrs Byers picked up the phone.

"Hello. Hello. Lonnie? Hopper? Who is this?" She asks, but there was no answer on the other side.

I joined her and Jonathan as she questions whoever was on the other side of the phone.

"Will? Will?"

I couldn't wrap my head around it, my eyes wide, as I turned to look at the boy standing next to me.

"It's Will? Mom, it's Will?" Jonathan asks his mom, taking the phone out of her hands. "Who is this?" he asks, Mrs Byers quickly took the phone back from his hands.

"What have you done to my boy? Give me back my son!" Mrs Byers yells, out of nowhere the phone got electrocuted, scaring her, the phone fell from her hands.

Jonathan picks up the phone again, yelling into it. "Hello? Hello, who is this? Who is this?" The phone was totally fried.

"Mom who was it? Who was it mom?" he asks holding onto her shoulders.

"It was him." Mrs Byers says in tears.

"Look at me, mom. Was it Will?" Jonathan asks his mom softly.

"Yes."

"What did he say?" He asks her again, as her anxiety kicked in.

"He just breathed, he just breathed."

"And was someone else there?" Jonathan asks.

"I..."

"Mom, who was there? Who was it?" Jonathan asks again.

"It was him."

Watching as the only mother figure I had in my life, break down, had my blood boiling in anger, who in their right mind would be this heartless.

"I know it was his breathing. I know it was his breathing." Mrs Byers kept on repeating as I pulled her into my arms, holding in my own tears, as I held onto the two, silently promising that I'll find the truth of this hidden darkness lurking around the people I care about.
