We walked around the fire hall as I introduced Eric to all of my family. To my surprise, everyone seemed to love him—especially my aunts and uncles.
"Love?" I spoke softly, still not used to the term.
"Yeah?" Cartman asked softly, raising an eyebrow.
"They seem to really like you. When exactly did you learn how to have normal nice conversations?"
Eric laughed, "Sometime after therapy and before we started dating, I guess."
I laughed in response and dragged Eric toward the kids' table so that he could meet my younger cousins. We approached the kids' table and saw Ike already sitting with some of the younger children.
"Kyle," Ike spoke, "Come with me."
Before I could even respond, Ike dragged me away, leaving Cartman with two young toddlers. Eric tried looking at me for guidance, but I was already halfway across the room when I managed to pull my wrist from Ike's grasp.
"Kyle, what the hell is going on? Why is Cartman with you, and why the hell is mom freaking out?"
I looked at Ike for a minute, trying to decide what I'd tell him. Unfortunately, there were too many people around here, to be honest about the situation.
"Ike, I'm introducing my boyfriend to the family. You know how mom is. She's always upset about something."
"You don't seriously expect me to believe you, right? You've been grounded for the last six months. You haven't even had time to date, let alone date Eric Cartman." Ike was looking at me like I had sprouted three more heads.
"We actually started dating before I was grounded. We went on a picnic at Stark's pond. It was very beautiful." I tried my hardest to sound convincing, but Ike wasn't buying it.
Ike just gave me a questioning look. I glanced around, making sure no one was close enough to hear what I was going to say.
"We can talk about it later, Ike. I promise I'll explain everything, assuming Mom does not kill me first."
Ike sighed, "Fine, but don't think I'm going to forget about this little conversation."
"Wouldn't dream of it, now seriously, we left Eric alone with the toddlers. We should go make sure they're alright," I replied
"It's not the twins you should be worried about. It's Cartman. The twins are quite the troublemakers, from what Aunt Sarah says."
We made our way back over to the kids' table and found all three boys sitting and coloring.
"Hey, Kyle, your boyfriend is the best. Are you sure we can't share him?" Asked Caleb
"Sorry little buddy, but my heart belongs to Kyle and Kyle alone." Eric chimed in
"Awwwww... No fair." Replied Asher, the other twin boy.
"I can consider bringing him over to play sometimes if it's okay with your mom and dad." I offered.
"Okay! Come on, Ash, let's go ask."
The twins ran off, and I was left with Eric again, wondering what exactly he had done to charm the young boys.
