Tomorrow was your first anniversary with Zoro. It's only been a year, but it felt like you'd been through at least five years of ups and downs. It made you wonder if your life was meant to crumble around him so that he could be the one to pick up the pieces and help you glue yourself back together. You stared at the sleeping brute, his good eye pushed into the pillow as he snored. You held back the urge to caress his face and ran your thumb across the scar.
After a moment of analyzing his features, you heard him grunt in his sleep along with the furrow of his eyebrow. His concentrated face was adorable and it only made you love him more. Everything about him seemed to light up your senses and you weren't going to complain. Your lip snagged between your teeth as you continued to gawk at the naked man.
"I can feel you staring," Zoro's sleepy voice breaks through the silence. You catch your breath with a small gasp before clearing your throat.
"I can't help that I like what I see," You retort. He hums with a small snort from his nose to show laughter.
"Then come here and like it more." You were oh-so-tempted to take him up on his offer, but you had spent more than ten minutes just laying in bed and watching him. It was time for you both to get ready for work. There was no way the co-workers you'd grown to love would let it slide if you both showed up late.
"Come on, you big lug," You playfully call to him with a gentle slap to his bare back. "We gotta go to work."
"Don't wanna." His large arm curls around your waist before you can attempt to leave the mattress. "Stay."
"No, Zoro, come on," You laugh lightly. "If they see us come in late again-"
"I'm their boss. They shouldn't say shit." You roll your eyes and pry his limb from your hips and stomach.
"I'm serious, Zoro, come on." He sighs in defeat at your words and pushes himself up off the mattress to spin onto his back.
"Let's just like... Quit," He whines.
"It's literally the family business, Moron." You giggle at the thought. "I don't think your mom and dad would be happy."
"They wouldn't care-" You eye him. "...Much." You stand from the side of the bed and begin to pull on the clothing that you had picked out last night before bed.
"They would hate it," You remind him. "Now come on. I laid out your clothes last night so that you couldn't use getting dressed as an excuse to run behind." He huffs in annoyance.
"I swear that you hate me," He mutters.
"Only on workdays!" You call over your shoulder while walking through the bedroom door towards the kitchen. As Zoro muttered about getting dressed and working, you had been preparing your lunches. Lately, Zoro had been on a health kick and weighing out his foods while you've been eating like you were starving. It seemed like all of the weight that he was losing was being handed to you.
"Chicken or Beef today?" You call out.
"Beef!" The husky voice answered down the hall. You nodded and began to weigh out the portions according to his yellow postcard on the fridge next to the countertop. Heavy footsteps made their way into the kitchen followed by a burly yawn. "Peas and potatoes are fine for today. I plan on having a big dinner." At the end of his words, he lands a meaty slap on your ass, making you jump with a squeak.
"Roronoa!" He only smirks at your reddening expression. You huff before placing the lid on the Bento that you prepare for him. "I should overweight your food next time, Marimo." He pouts at the nickname.
"If I didn't know that Sanji would call me that I might think it wasn't that bad."
"Too bad, Mossy, we gotta get going." You toss him his lunch bag while grabbing yours and heading toward the door. You both grab your wallets, keys and whatever extras you each carried before heading out to the car. After the car ride of both comfortable silence and music, you arrived at the shop.
