Working part-time was always a good thing since you got a free ride to college through strictly art scholarships. It didn't bother you that you worked since it got you money for rent and activities outside of school that cost money. However, what you didn't expect was for Nami to find out where you work and come every time you did to see you.
"What are you guys doing here, again?" You groan. She never came alone, either. Luffy grinned widely, leaning on the counter of the auto shop.
"We came to see you!"
"This is an auto shop, not a lounge," You grumble. "You guys are lucky the manager likes ya'll."
"Who wouldn't like us?" Usopp asks with a puffed chest. "We're a pretty great crew."
"Shut up, what do ya'll really want?" You ask, stocking the shelf you worked on in annoyance.
"We came before Nami mentioned something new that you haven't told us about," Robin chimes in with a large smirk, Franky's arm resting on her shoulders. You slowly turn, eyes immediately finding Nami. She smiles nervously, slowly backing away.
"And what would that be?" You question through gritted teeth.
"How come Zoro is babysitting Chopper but we don't get to?" Luffy blurts. You gasp, dropping the metal gasket you held onto the concrete floor with a loud clang.
"What?" You squeak. "You guys are worried about him babysitting Chopper?"
"Yes!" Brook shouts. "You didn't even let us hang out with him alone this whole week he's been here, but Zoro can babysit?"
"He's the worst when it comes to kids!" Franky pipes up. Suddenly, the whole crew was arguing with you about Zoro getting to babysit. Finally, you slam your hands onto the counter, glaring at all of them.
"You guys wanna hang out with him so bad then go!" You shout, huffing. "He gets to babysit him because the whole lot of you will corrupt the poor kid!"
"Yay!" Luffy bellows, leaping up in excitement. "Let's go, guys!" He dashes from the building, Usopp, Brook, and Franky following closely. Nami, Sanji, and Robin all lingered behind to talk to you.
"I am going to kill you so don't talk to me for three days," You warn as you look at Nami. She sighs and hangs her head.
"Yeah, I figured as much."
"Don't be so hard on her, Reader," Sanji pleads. "Luffy tricked her into admitting it when she tried to make an excuse for why Zoro has been absent at crew meet-ups."
"We didn't really help with that situation, either," Robin admits. "I'll make sure they don't destroy your house." She waves goodbye before walking off to join the boys who wreaked havoc outside as they pulled the car's door handles rapidly to annoy whoever had the keys to unlock it.
"I'll have dinner made for you before you get home as thanks and hope to make you less mad at Nami." Sanji's cooking really would make you less mad, but you still wanted to act like it wouldn't work.
"Yeah, whatever." You scoff at them as they leave the building to be with the others.
"Reader!" Your boss calls behind you.
"What's up, Garp?" You respond while walking toward the backroom.
"Did I hear your little group again?" He questions with a smile. You sigh and nod, pinching the bridge of your nose.
"Unfortunately, yes." He chuckles lowly and shrugs.
"Those kids must really like you."
"A little too much if you ask me," You mutter. He laughs more voluminously this time, making you startled. "Do you like my friends?"
