When you're kicked out from a life of silky smooth sheets, fluffed pillows, servants waiting on your every whim, food whenever you demand it, a castle that was the size of at least three villages, and the most rich and expensive materials that you could imagine for clothes, you don't ever think about losing it. 

Because after all, how could you lose the only life you've ever known?
And even if the thought did cross your mind, you'd ignore it. 

But power and wealthiness can slip away as fast as a lightening strike; and then once it's gone, what do you do from there?

Where do you even go from there?

The only answer to this question ─ when you're an (ex) Princess who's on the run from her own soldiers, brother (who is apparently the Fire lord, now?), and even from fellow citizens ─ is to simply disappear.

That however, is much easier said than done.

Especially when your face is printed on posters all over the nation.

God─fucking─dammit, this was annoying.

The sun beat down on the back of Soza's neck. 

She wiped sweat from her brow with the back of her hand, before continuing on her walk through the clearing. Her head was hung low, trying to avoid the sun from directly hitting her face. Her hair was tied back, and her clothes were thin and simple ─ she had gotten rid of her royal clothes the second day night after she had left the palace that day, burning them with her own flames.

That night was burned into her mind. The screams, sobs, fighting ─ no matter how hard she tried to wipe her mind clear, she just couldn't forget. She couldn't forget the sight of her sister ─ her beloved sister, who had taught her how to tie up her own hair, who had held her hand when she got scared, who practiced with her, and comforted her when the expectations got too overwhelming. 

However, soon Soza realized that she didn't miss Azula.

No, no, no, she missed the old Azula. She didn't miss this new, psychotic, crazed sister; I mean sure, the younger twin had known for a long time that Azula had a slight crazed side ─ Soza did too, so could she really judge her? No. But there was no denying that she missed the old Azula. 

The old Azula that would never, never, come back.

i apologize for the slow updates, and the short chapters. school's kicking my ass and I sadly haven't had a lot of inspiration ─ but i will continue this book, i swear! even though the chapters are short, i do hope you enjoy reading them; this story is going to have a lot of Soza looking back and more of her perspective, so i hope that you all will enjoy that :)
