10. Good act

HAILEY POV:
(Week later)

It had been a month since the band competition and well you know. Me and Jake have decided to keep it a private until we are ready to announce it. And by doing that we have been closer than ever and it's been harder to keep it low. Many times we've been almost caught and I've had up weird excuses.

I was laughing at my phone of what Jake had texted me, he's got the best humor. "Hailey you want bananas or strawberries with it?" Shannon asked making pancakes. "Hailey?"

"Hm? Oh yeah!" I said looking up from my phone. "Hailey you've been on your phone all day and it's only 9am!" Shannon sighed peaking over my shoulder. "Hey!" I said turning it off quickly. "Who's that?" She asked. "Oh ha. Um." I laughed oddly. "Milly!"

"So you text that?" Shannon grinned, bringing attention to Michael and Zander. "Woah. Slow down." Michael faked laughed knowing what Shannon meant, he thinks so. "It's nothing!" I lied. "Milly just won this thing and I was sending our love!"

"Sure." Shannon giggled. "I wanna see these texts." Zander said. "I'll show you if you show yours and Luke!" I smirked knowing he won't. "Never mind." Zander muttered stabbing his strawberry.

Yes lame excuse like that, But today the others were over at mine in the music room studying for Sean final exam, mine Luke's, Jake and Zanders end of year tests and Millys.

Milly let out a loud annoying groan. "What?" Sean ask looking over. "Okay, what is simplify 6x + 9y + 2x - 3y?" Milly asked through her pen on the ground.

"8x + 6y." I said not even looking up. "Oh my god! Thank youuuu!" Milly exclaimed scribbling the answer down. "How did you get that so fast?" Jake asked me. "I'm in top sets maths doofus." I laughed. "Oh yeaaaa"

"Makes sense, you're in bottom set." Zander snickered at Jake. "No I'm the one above bottom!" Jake said proudly. "That's not something to be proud of!" Luke said. "Okay," milly said. "what's 4x - y + x-"

"We're not answering them all for you mills!" I interrupted her. "Please!" She begged. "No! I'll do one question each for you guys if we need it!" I'm smart no need to mention it. "Where do Dutch people come from?" Luke asked me. "I know!" Jake exclaimed "Pennsylvania Dutch come from Pennsylvania!"

"No the other dutch." Luke said. "Uh, well, the, uh..." Jake stuttered. "They come from somewhere near the Netherlands, right?" Zander giggled trying to give Jake help. "Nice try." Jake snorted. "The Netherlands is this make-believe place where Peter Pan and Tinker Bell come from." He said thinking he nailed that. "Oh, my.." I muttered.

"Help me now with my work." Jake said "no." Zander said. "The band Mini-Rave in 1970 split.  There was three members Big Dog and Lil Dog. What was the third member name?" Jake said.

"I don't think that's any homework." Luke said. "I think it's music history homework?" Jake said turning the sheet around. "That's not gonna help." I sighed taking the sheet from him. "Okay.." I read the sheet "this isn't even homework!" I said throwing it back at him. "Are you sure your not in bottom maths?" Milly laughed at Jake. "Why is everyone coming at me!" He cried making a whole dramatic scene.

"Finally finshed!" Milly rolled around on the floor. "Let's watch a movie!" She suggested. "Wait, I'm stilling doing my mine!" Jake said. "How much do you have?" Sean asked. "Uh let's see, I've finished maths,maths last week, maths the week before that, half of the book report, history/music-"

"How about you come upstairs and we can finish them off." I said annoyed knowing damn well this is going to take the whole day. "Okay." Jake groaned picking up his things. "Let's go." I rolled my eyes. Seriously?
