13. the band competition shook

HAILEY POV:
I had thought a lot about this. I'm ready to tell everyone that I'm dating Jake Sterling. That's sounds cringe now that I'm saying that..

It was after school and everyone was at mine. "Let's put on high school musical!" Milly exclaimed. "No!" Zander sighed. I ran over in fient of Milly. "Let Zander pick." I glared at milly. I want Zander in a good mood as I know this will effect him most. "No." She scoffed. "Milly Please i need this." I whispered. "What?" She asked, i grabbed the remote of her and threw it at Zander.

I went into the kitchen were Jake was helping me make Zander's favourite snack, grapes. "Okay here hails!" Jake said with a plate of grapes. "Good!" I smiled. "Are you ready?" He asked me, I was excited but nervous. "Yes!" I said firmly. "How do I look?" I asked him, I want this announcement to go well. "Amazing" he said.  "Okay, I'm just gonna touch up on my mascara quickly then." I said walking towards my bag. "Why do you need to do your eyelashes?" He asked peaking over my shoulder. "Just wanna look nice".

I noticed my eyelash curler was missing. "God where is it?" I muttered, Jake got off and looked in. "What you looking for?" He asked. "Eyelash curler! Let me go ask Shannon." I said walking towards to living room. Jake came in doing a twirl as he placed the grapes down. "Hey, Shannon, can I borrow your eyelash curler, I think I lost mine." I asked. "Yeah honey , it's in there." She said pointing to the bathroom. Jake sat down the grapes in front of Zander who was bickering with Milly, but her face expression changed, She then let out a gasp looking at me. "Oh! Ohh! Oh!!" She shouted pointing at Me and Jake as I left the room.

JAKE POV:
Oh.
She knows somehow she knows. I looked at her but she was just shocked. "Milly, can I talk to you for a second?" I said trying to be calm as I dragged her in the hall. Hailey came out the bathroom looking confused. "Oohh!! Ohh! Oh-oh-oh! Oh-oh!!" Milly exclaimed again pointing at Hailey. I pushed her through the bathroom door and Hailey closes it behind us. I tackled milly onto the toilet seat and tried to cover her mouth. Hailey walked over to me. I think she got what's happening.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!" Milly exclaimed putting her hand over her mouth. "Yes. Yes." I said letting her sit up. Milly looked at me shocked "You?!" She turned to Hailey "And-and you?!" She asked still in shook."Yes, but you cannot tell anyone! No one knows!" Hailey said panicking. "How?! When?!" Milly exclaimed. "It happened at the band competition." I sighed.

"THE BAND COMPETITION?!" She shouted far too loud.

I hushed her again. "The reason we didn't tell anyone was because we didn't want to make a big deal out of it."

"But it is a big deal!! I have to tell someone!" Milly exclaimed making a run to the door but Me and Hailey both grab her and stop her. "No-no-no-no-no! You can't!" Hailey said loudly. "Please? Please?!" Hailey begged.

I thought she wanted to tell them?

"We just don't want to deal with telling everyone, okay? Just promise you won't tell." Hailey continued to beg. We could see a concentrated look on Millys face. "All right! Man, this is unbelievable!" She exclaimed. "Wait I thought you wanted to tell them?" I asked turning to Hailey. She looked at the ground then Milly then me. "Come." She said dragging me into the hallway. "You okay?" I asked her. She silently stood there holding my hand. "Milly's reaction kind of scared me.." she muttered looking down. "Oh hails.." I sighed. Poor Hailey. "she did have a big reaction but that's her." I said.

"That's the thing! Milly should be the happiest!" Hailey said looking up. "She is." I smiled. "I know..but her reaction..I knew she would react the best." Hailey sighed "but if that's the best reaction we are going to get.. what's about the others? I don't want to tell them yet."

"Hailey she was just shocked, she was happy you could hear it." I spoke. She still looked quite upset "hey, it's alright, we can always wait." I said kissing her forehead.

"AWH!" We heard a voice behind us. "I thought she left." Hailey said. "You guys are so cute!" Milly squealed.

HAILEY POV:
Jake gave Milly that look as he went into the living room. Milly came running to me very excited. "Soooo?" She giggled biting her lip wanting to know everything. "Oh my god!" I squealed as I told her everything.

What? We're girls.
