I woke up to the warm spring sun shining through the thin silk curtain right on my eyes, almost blinding me.
The smell of pancakes filled my nostrils as I sat up on the bed to stretch.
I rubbed my eyes and looked outside the window.Three extra cars?
I furrowed my brows at the sight and stood up.
Jan is also missing.
Probably downstairs.I checked my phone and snapped a quick Instagram story of the peaceful morning.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and made my way to the stairs.
I tiptoed down but was stopped in my tracks by six pairs of eyes.Oh now I remember, Jans siblings were supposed to gather here today.
Maciej is nowhere to be seen, as expected.
I greeted all of them before trying to find Jan.Where the hell is he.
I entered the kitchen just to find both of his parents making pancakes.
I asked them about Jan but all they did was shrug.
Weird.Has he just vanished into thin air?
There's one more place he could be at.
But if not then I have no idea.I put on my sneakers and a warm fuzzy coat.
The weather is sunny but it's still a little chilly.I turned the door knob and made my outside.
The birds are chirping and the slight wind blowing through my messy hair.
I inhaled the cold air and just stood there for a few quiet moments before turning around and walking towards the backyard. And there he was.
Sitting in the far too small children's swing, writing in his infamous leather notebook.
I took a second to absorb the view.
His wavy hair up in a ponytail and a beige blanket on his shoulders.
He looks literally ethereal. They made men and made Jan as an apology, I'm not even being dramatic.
I should really thank Janec and Edyta.I quietly made my way in front of him, sitting down on the green grass just admiring his features.
He closed the notebook and placed it on top of the other small swing.
I completely laid down, putting my hands behind my head, closing my eyes and inhaling the fresh air once again. He chuckled and plopped down next to me, taking the blanket with him.
I could feel his breath tickling my neck as he pulled me closer to him, embracing me.
Butterflies.
He started tracing invisible patterns on the palm of my hand.
The corners of my mouth grew into a smile.Comfortable silence is the best silence, prove me wrong.
We talked about our plans and dreams before his mother interrupted,
"Come on, lovebirds, it's time to eat,"
Jan helped me get up before pulling me in for a quick kiss.
I let out a giggle as we parted. We raced to the house.
This time Jan won.
We entered the house laughing and greeted everyone just like before.Edyta gestured us to the long wooden table.
I sat next to Jan, in the seat next to me is his older sister Antonina and opposite of her are all the others.
There's one more empty seat for Edyta.
Janec has already sat down on the corner seat.
I tried making small talk with his sisters while Edyta finished up in the kitchen.Antonina is an artist and Amelia is a history teacher.
Cool to know.I took one of the pancakes and smeared some butter on it.
Jan on the other hand opened the raspberry jam for his one.
We ate mostly in silence with a few questions about my life."You know what we should do tonight," Jan started as he finished his second pancake,
"Let's go to the club," all eyes were on him.
"Sure, only if everyone else is okay with it," I shrugged as I took a sip of water.
Everyone over the age of 18 agreed, the little ones obviously a little annoyed.
"Perfetto," Jan exclaimed, popping the T.
I smiled.
We finished our food and went our ways.I changed into more presentable clothes before going on a motorcycle ride with Jan.
This is, of course, his amazing idea. The weather has gotten a lot more warmer.
I walked out the shared bathroom in an AC/DC sweater that I stole from his apartment a few weeks ago, the vintage Levi jeans and black high-top converse.Jan had put on a white T-shirt with a leather jacket over his broad shoulders and matching light-wash jeans.
His eyes were only on me, slightly smirking,
"You're a thief and you know that," he said, pointing at the sweatshirt, trying to keep a serious face.
"A thief for your heart," I chuckled, placing my hand on the left side of his chest.
He raised his brows and pulled me in for an unexpected hug, resting his head on top of mine.
I inhaled his cologne and closed my eyes.We parted and walked down the stairs hand in hand, as always.
Edyta and Janec waved us goodbye and so did we.The motorcycle was parked in front of the gate.
Black with white stripes on it,
basic but cute.Jan handed me one of the round helmets and helped with the adjusting.
He climbed on the vehicle helping me as well.I didn't know what to do so I rested my hands behind my back on the seat and hoped for the best.
"If you're going to stay like that, you'll just fall off the second we leave," he laughed, his voice muffled.
I scooted closer to him and and held onto him for dear life.
"Wait, you have a license, don't you?" I asked in fear.
"Don't worry about it," he let out a laugh, i froze.
"Of course I do," I let out a sigh of relief, kicking his foot with mine for scaring me.
He started the engine and with that, we left.
