Three years later
"Babe hurry up, we have to get going!" Yelled Matt over the loud music as he knocked on the bathroom door repeatedly, trying to get my attention. I put on some deodorant and unlocked the door.
We were both wearing almost the same outfit. Dark green wide leg pants and also a green dress shirt with a black oversized blazer on top.
"Tyler and Sam are already waiting outside," he grinned, looking me up and down before pecking my forehead and intertwining our hands.
Ahead of us is a four hour drive to Liverpool.Confused? Let me explain.
First about Matt.
He's 5'11 with dark brown wavy hair and brown eyes. He also has freckles which is cute.
Me and Matthew met in ICU about two years ago when I was still heartbroken and confused of why I'm still here. Anyhow, we always went out together and that's how we met Tyler.Me and Matt were already together and I don't know what had gotten into us but we decided to go to a club on a Monday night. Crazy, but it was eventful to say the least.
There he was, in the dj booth mixing up old and new tunes. If I remember correctly, he was playing Britney Spears when we approached him. He was obviously drunk since he greeted us like his friends that he had known for his whole life. That's when we knew he was a good person and a good fit for our friend group. He has short blonde hair and hazel eyes just like his father. Oh, he's also gay but that's no surprise. Now Sam.
Sam has been Matts best friend since kindergarten. Me and Sam met at a frat party while two people were fighting over something. He was the cameraman. I still laugh when I see the video. My voice can be heard right next to him as I tell him to lower the exposure so it isn't too bright. Ah, good memories.Well now we are a band called Beyond London.
All of us four and I'm so incredibly excited. Matt is the lead, I'm the guitarist, Sam is the drummer and Tyler the bassist. I also sometimes play the piano.Right now we are preparing for, drumroll please, fucking Eurovision. Our song is called "hopeless romantic". Me and Matt wrote it when it was our one year anniversary. A truly unforgettable night. Roses and candles everywhere as I walked into our apartment. Yes we live together.
We left the complex with three big suitcases, two of them of course mine. Tyler and Sam were already sitting in the small bus when the driver took our stuff and carefully loaded it to the trunk.
I sat by the window and Matt next to me, taking out his AirPods and handing one of them to me. I put it in my ear and rested my head on top of his shoulder, closing my eyes.
I woke up to all three of them doing karaoke. More specifically Käärijä. They butchered every single pronunciation. I chuckled at the sight and took my phone, opening Instagram. I filmed them 'singing' Cha Cha Cha and posted it on our main story, tagging Eurovision and käärijä.Two more hours. I let out a sigh and looked out the window. The sky is blue and ground bright green, the weather is warm and sunny. Just how I like it.
We stopped at a gas station after they had sung a few other songs. I opened the heavy door and stepped out, stretching my back and legs. Matt stood next to me while the others ran to the small shop.
"Are you nervous, like at all?" He asked, squinting as he looked towards the sun.
"I'm a nervous wreck," I let out a fake laugh and turned my gaze to the ground, fidgeting with my rings.
"Julia, don't worry, everything will be okay. I'll always be there with you, I promise from the bottom of my heart," he lifted up my chin kissed the tip of my nose. I felt the corners of my mouth turn upwards.
"Should we check on the others?" I asked after a moment of comfortable silence. He nodded and we made our way to the entrance. There thankfully weren't many people around but I could already see Sam flirting with the cashier. We both chuckled at the same time as we strolled through the shelves.
"Ooh, I'm gonna get these," I exclaimed, pointing at the carrots. My go to snack.
He snatched them out of my hands and threw them to the basket.
"I'm gonna get these for you," he corrected me as we continued walking.
We took a couple selfies with some fans and made our way to the checkout. Sam and Tyler had already paid and are waiting in front of the store. Matt paid and took our bag as we exited the shop, catching up with the other two."I got her number," bragged Sam, waving the paper note in his hands. I applauded him and gave him a quick but friendly hug. After a few more chats and pictures we were on our way.
We did some more karaoke, played cards and finally went live on instagram.
Matt is in the middle, I'm to his left, Sam to his right and Tyler poking his head out from behind him.
"Welcome, welcome," yelled Tyler from the back.
We started answering the questions after talking about our day.
"Who's your fave from this year and why? Hmm, I really like Armenia and Sweden," I replied as I put on some Burt's bees lip balm.
"Käärijä!" shouted Matt and Sam in union, I chuckled.
"I like Belgium, for obvious reasons," snickered Tyler, playfully rolling his eyes.
"Poland is also good," added Sam, shrugging.
"Wait who's representing Poland this year," I asked, all of their heads turned to me in shock.
"You don't know?!" Tyler widened his eyes, mouth wide open. I nodded my head no.
"Jann," Sam answered, still in shock. The name sounds really familiar, I just can't put my finger on it. I don't know, maybe my mind is playing tricks with me again. I shrugged and we continued with the questions until we arrived at our destination..................................................................................
So Matthew and Julia huh. Wouldn't have guessed it. And Eurovision?! This story is full of plot twists.
Jan will be in the next chapter.
