It's been a full week since meeting Colson. He's called Toby everyday, explaing what was going on with the outside world. The only concern I had was when Toby ran out of the apartment in panic, six hours ago. Ned told me not to worry about it, but that's all I can do.
"Anything from Toby yet"? I asked as I sat up off the couch when Ned walked in.
"No, not yet. I called him and he never picked up". He sighed. "I think it's best that we keep a low profile. I kinda had it out with Mitch eariler". He spoke.
"What, why"? I asked.
He shrugged his shoulders. "You guys are my life, I promised your parents I would help you and protect you, so when some nasty mouth people are involved I tend to shy away from decent exposure to being nasty right back". He said and grabbed a beer.
"Ned"? I questioned and crossed my arms.
"He told me that ever since you grew up, you got hot and it bothers him". He groaned.
I shook my head, scrunching my face. "What an asshole".
"That's what I'm saying. Please do me a favor, don't go near him". He laughed.
The joke was cut short as Toby ran into the apartment, Colson right behind him.
"Where the hell have you been, you had us worried"! I yelled and walked over.
"Shhh". Toby hissed as he looked out the peephole of the door.
"Fuck off, where the hell were yo-" but Colson stopped me, placing his hand over my mouth and backing us against the door.
"Toby"? Ned whispered.
"Someone got really pissed at us, we're hiding". He whispered back.
I felt trapped, stuck between Colson and the wall. He glanced down at me and smirked as he let go of my mouth, not his hands around me.
"Who did you piss off"? Ned asked and grabbed his gun from his waistband.
A loud knock on the door made me jump, causing Colson to pull me into his chest and back us away from the door.
"Get your ass out here Toby"! Someone yelled.
Toby turned to us and put his finger to his lips. Normally the police are on deck when it comes to violence in the building so they will be down any minute. I hid my face on Colsons chest as the banging got louder, and the sound of a gun reloading.
Ned smacked Toby as we heard the police break up the noise, not really hearing why they were there. I kept my face in Colsons chest, he smelt good. When I fully pulled away all eyes were on me.
"What, I got scared"? I whispered and shooed Colson off of me.
"What the hell did you two do"? Ned asked and smacked Toby again.
"I went to help Colson eariler. Those guys were robbing the whole left side of Manhattan. Colsons family live over there, his grandma was a target. You always told me to protect whatever I need to". He sighed and walked into the living room.
"Yes in our family. what happened to common sense. Your becoming a real douche bag". Ned sighed.
"Oh, I'm a douche. Did you tell Lillian what happened to you and Mitch and how we are no longer receiving supplies"? He asked.
I turned to Ned. "What, you didn't tell me that". I hissed.
"Because you overreact, I can't have two grown adult teens running this apartment."
I rolled my eyes and sat down, seconds later Colson was next to me. "Colson, do you need a place to crash tonight? I'm only assuming". Ned asked.
"That would help, yeah".
Ned nodded and walked into the kitchen. "I'm going to bed. Keep the noise down". He said as he chugged the rest of his beer and walked back to his room. Way to talk to us Ned.
Toby, Colson and I sat there in silence for a moment before Toby stood up.
"Colson I can make you up a bed in my room". He said and Colson laughed.
"No offense but I'd rather sleep on the couch. I don't know what you do in that bedroom". He laughed.
I smirked and stood up. "Well I'm going to bed. Don't get into any more trouble". I spoke and they both nodded.

Was it the loud alarms that kept me up? Or was it Toby walking back and forth down the hallway all night? Or maybe it was Ned snoring in the room next to me. We may never know at this point. So now I lay here, contemplating whether or not to open the door quickly so Toby walks into it, or placing a pillow over Ned's face. My door opened, breaking me out of my killer thoughts to Colson. He held a pillow over his ears and then turned to me after he shut the door.
"I'm gonna kill him". He groaned.
"Why can't you tell him that everything is fine and he doesn't need to do his nervous pace"? I asked.
"Because I can't even get a word in, his feet are making enough static electricity in that hall, the light woke me up. Can I crash in here"? He asked.
"And where are you going to sleep, my floor? Sorry to break it to you but you hear him worse in here". I said and covered my face with a pillow.
"Floor, bed I don't care. Move over". He whispered and I threw the pillow at him.
"Floor".
He chuckled to himself in the darkness of my room. He grabbed my blanket, tearing it off me and wrapped himself up in it.
"Hey". I wined.
"Oh this is nice. Goodnight". He laughed.
I laid there staring at my ceiling and groaned. "You're as worse as having two brothers". I whispered.
"Oh sister. My thoughts about you are sinister. Don't ruin it for me". He spoke.
My mouth fell open as I threw my pillow at him. "Oh good, I needed one". He laughed.
My fault. Now I won't be able to sleep.
