They all stood there in shock with the doors open, Blake clenched her jaw at the sound of the walkers approaching and readjusted her crossbow. And then they were moving. Shane yelled out something about watching their backs as they entered so Blake stood by her dad mind racing. She thought they were screwed earlier, running out of supplies and gas and being stuck in Atlanta in the dark. But Rick had been right, there was someone in there, they just apparently needed to beg for their lives. Once they got in Blake and her dad were closing the doors. Her eyes wandered once the doors were closed as she took in the lobby they had just entered. It was huge, with glass windows making up a big part of the walls. But it was also empty, she had expected a big greeting from some not so friendly military men. Instead it was just one man with a gun standing and pointing it at them.

"Anybody infected?" The man asked gun up.

"One of our group was. He didn't make it." Rick answered.

"Why are you here? What do you want?" He asked.

"A chance." Rick told him, Blake was still on edge as she looked around them. It was so quiet in here.

"That's asking an awful lot these days."

"I know." There was a pause as he looked them all over, Blake was almost ready to just head back out there herself at this point. There was something just wrong about the place.

"You all submit to a blood test. That's the price of admission." The man told them finally.

"We can do that," Rick agreed.

"You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once this door closes, it stays closed." He said, lowering his gun. They scrambled, running out and grabbing a few bags. As soon as the doors shut the man was speaking into a keypad. "Vi, seal the main entrance. Kill the power up here." And the shutters were closing, locking them in the building.

"Rick Grimes." Rick introduced himself.

"Dr. Edwin Jenner." The man, now doctor, said looking them all over once again. It was almost like he was unsure of having people around him, like he hadn't seen another person in a while. But he was talking to someone just a few moments ago so that couldn't have been the case.

"Doctors always go around packing heat like that?" Her dad asked once they were all crammed in the elevator. It was a tight fit that had Blake's breath getting caught in her throat.

"There were plenty left lying around. I familiarized myself. But you look harmless enough." Jenner told them. "Except you. I'll have to keep my eye on you." He teased Carl who got a small smile playing on his lips. Then they were exiting the elevator into a hallway with lots of doors around them, there was air conditioning keeping it cool and Blake felt herself relaxing in the cool air.

"Are we underground?" Carol asked suddenly, and Blake wished she hadn't. It hadn't even come to her mind that they were underground until now, and she could feel her mind racing at the thought.

"Are you claustrophobic?" Jenner asked in return.

"A little," came the older woman's answer.

"Try not to think about it." She felt her dad's hand on her back trying to steady her as her breathing picked up. They entered a large dark room and Jenner called out to someone. "Vi, bring up the lights in the big room." When the lights came on it revealed a large room with screens everywhere along with computers. Luckily the new room took Blake's mind off of the fact she was underground. "Welcome to zone 5." Jenner said as he led them deeper into the room.

"Where is everybody? The other doctors, the staff?" Rick asked the question that head been eating at her since they entered the building.

"I'm it. It's just me here." Jenner revealed, Blake's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. How was there only one person left trying to save humanity?
