18. misunderstanding

I heard soft snores coming from Sarah's mouth and felt Rafe's body move up and down as he slept but for some reason I couldn't fall asleep.

Rafe's arm was still wrapped around my waist so I tried to sit up without waking him but it didn't work out very well as when I tried to push his arm off, he just held on even tighter then he had before.

I couldn't tell if he was awake or just did that in his sleep so I continued to try and get up.

"Stop it." Rafe mumbled. "Rafe i'm getting up." I spoke quietly.

"But it's still night time." He says. "Shh! You're going to wake Sarah." I said.

"What are you doing?" He groaned. "Im just ganna go to mcdonald's, I can't sleep and i'm hungry." I said.

His eyes shot open so fast. "I'm coming i'm hungry." He said. "Okay." I laughed.

We got out of the bed and I slightly shook Sarah, telling her we were going to get McDonald's. She nodded her head and went right back to sleep.

Me and Rafe put some better clothing on before we decided on taking his car, he grabbed his car keys, and we tiptoed down the spiral staircase and out the front door, to his truck.

Jokingly, he opened the passenger door for me. "Such a gentleman." I laughed as I sat down. "Always" He said before he slammed the door shut.

Rafe walked around the car to his side and got in.

He let me play the music as he drove to the closest Mcdonalds.

We were almost there when he made a U turn and started going back.

"Rafe what the hell?" I said. "I forgot my fucken' wallet, we gotta go back." He says. "No! What the hell absolutely not Im the one who wanted food I can pay." I say.

"No." He says. "Rafe it's literally mcdonald's, I'm paying!" I said.

"No." He repeated. "Turn back around to the damn mcdonald's." I said.

"No." He said again. "Fine. If you don't turn around i'll tell the group that you cuddle in your sleep." I say.

"You wouldn't." He gasps. "I would." I grinned.

"Fuck fine I'll go back!" He said.

We drove for around 8 minutes before we made it to the drive through.

We both ordered some food and ate in the car, in the parking lot.

After we ate we just sat there in silence until one of us spoke.

"Im not tired anymore.." Rafe says. "Neither am I." I said.

"So uh.. tomorrow or-technically today, you wanna get dinner together? As friends." He says. "Id like that." I smiled. "Cool.." He spoke.

It was awkward.

"I-Im ganna drive home now.." He says. "Good idea.." I said.

The drive home was slightly less awkward since we has music playing.

I decided to say something. "I kinda want a slurpie.. can ww go go 7-11?" I asked. "Yeah sure." He said, changing directions.

We drove to the 7-11 and walked inside. "I gotta take a leak, ill be back." Rafe said. I nodded as he walked to the bathroom.

I went over to the slurpie section and started to make mine.

Some guy who was also getting one started to speak to me.

"Hey." He said. "Hey." I repeated, not wanting to talk to strangers in the middle of the night.

"What are you doing all alone at this time?" He said.

what are you my dad?

"I-I'm not alone." I said. "Sure." He laughed.

"You need a ride home?" He asked. "Im okay." I said.

I was uncomfortable with the conversation, so I gave him a little smile and walked in the other direction.

I didn't notice him following me, making me back myself up in to an empty corner.

"So wheres your friend?" He asked. "Bathroom." I said. "Come on let me take you home, You're friend will be fine darling." He said. "Im dont want to." Is all I said.

I felt frozen in my spot, to nervous to say anything more then the minimal words that would come out.

The front door of the store opened and I watched as Topper walked inside. Wait what? Topper!

"Topper!" I said. Topper was surprised to see me, but even more surprised to see me in a corner with a random guy.

Rafes gotta be taking a shit or something he is taking forever.

"Topper hi!" I said as he walked over. "Hey Tanya?" He said.

I would just pretend Topper was my boyfriend, and then hopefully this guy would leave.

"You took forever in the bathroom." I gave topper a look and thank god he understood. "Oh yeah, sorry I-I they ran out or soap I had to ask for more." He said.

Since this man was just standing there, and not   getting the point I took things farther.

"I missed you." I said as I stepped closer and pecked Toppers lips.

Just as I pulled away the man started talking but I wasn't listening.

All my attention was on Rafe, who has just walked out of the bathroom and saw me kiss Topper.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me!" Rafe said loudly.

He didn't waste a second before walking out of the store.

Topper didn't even notice, he was arguing with the weird man.

I ran after Rafe.

"Rafe stop! It's not what it looks like I swear! Rafe I promise please stop!" I yelled.

"Fuck you Tanya! I thought maybe we had a chance for something but then you kiss Topper?! Are you fucking kidding me?" He screamed.

I tried to talk but he didn't let me, immediately talking again.

"Im going home, I bet your boyfriend will drive you." He said as walked to his truck.

"Rafe please just let me explain!" I begged. My eyes filled with tears. "Fuck you! And Topper I hope you guys have a good fucking night!" He said as he got in the truck and sped off.
