Kabanata 1

I woke up because of the sun's rays. Malamig at bukas pa rin ang aircon ng kwarto ko kahit na halatang hindi na sobrang aga.

I sat down and stretch my back a bit bago ko napansin ang bagong vase na nasa balcony ko. It was a mixed of sunflowers and roses, perfectly placed in a pretty vase. I wouldn't deny that it's beautiful. May ilang vase pa roon na ibang klaseng bulaklak naman ang naka lagay. I don't know how did it got there. Ang sabi ni Daddy isa lang ang dadalhin niya.

I stood up and noticed that my lamp and chargers were also unplugged. Naka tulugan ko na 'tong lahat kagabi because of pagod but I think he took it off.

I turned my aircon off and went outside the balcony to check the flowers. I smiled a bit and squatted down to check on them. May mga daisy, daffodil, lavender, golden shower, at tulips na. Kagabi ay mga baby's breath lang ang meron ako rito dahil lahat ng mga halaman ko ay na sa garden sa baba.

I kept my smile as I looked at the sky. Mahangin at maganda ang simoy ng araw. Malamig at napaka tahimik. It's usual since it's December. My favorite month of the year.

I then looked again at the flowers beside me. If Dad brought these flowers here, I appreciate it but it doesn't change anything...

I went inside again and decided to clean my room before I shower. I'm planning to go to my Mom again today. Nag pasya kasi ako kagabi habang nag mu-muni muni na mauna na sa Del Francisco. Sa tingin ko kasi ay may aasikasuhin pang trabaho sila Daddy kaya hindi pa sila bya-byahe. It's a good thing for me. Ayoko rin kasi silang maka sabay kaya mauuna na lang ako.

I was about to enter my room when I noticed a small cactus plant on my balcony's table. Wala ito kahapon. I noticed a paper at its side and found out that it was a note. A letter to be exact.

I hope you like these flowers on your lovely safe place. Daddy doesn't know what type of vases you like so I chose it base on your vases at your garden. I'll check on San Isidro later for more flowers and vases. Your Tita Ali send me some beautiful pots that you would like so I will go there to buy you some.

Also, thank you for staying for dinner tonight, anak. I missed you.

My heart hurt as I red the letter. This isn't the first time that he wrote for me. Halos linggo linggo ay may mga sulat dito o hindi kaya mga bulaklak, pagkain, at kung ano anong regalo. At sa bawat sulat at regalo niya, mas lalong lumalaki ang sakit at pag tatampong nararamdaman ko. Imbes na maibsan...lalong lumalala.

Imbes na mawala...mas lalong nanunumbalik.

I breathe heavily and put the letter on the box where I kept all of his letters and gifts.

Tapos na ako mag linis at maligo ng tumawag sa akin si Lia para i-kwento ang pogi raw na taga kabilang school na bumisita sa school namin ngayon. Nandoon kasi sila ng ilan niyang kaibigan para mag asikaso ng ilang documents na kulang nila. Hindi ko lang alam kung ano.
