It's been more than a week since I saw Alissa. I've been spending most of my days doing research that could lead me back to my brother or his potential whereabouts and all I got in return was the same article from the past, although one particular article caught my eye. The article read 'Jeremiah Redwood, the boy who was presumed dead, has been found in a lake in Manchester. It's said that the young boy of the age of 26 had committed suicide and has left no note or anything for the public to find.' bullshit.

I refuse to believe that Jeremiah is dead because he can't be. I know who my brother is and I know for a fact that he isn't someone who would kill himself after being accused of something. Even if it was something as big as killing my parents, who weren't even good people to begin with, but with Ash saying he knows where he is and that they've been in contact before. It just adds to my point that Jeremiah can't be dead.

I hear a knock at my door and I make my way to open it "Who is it?" I ask demandingly, "It's me darling, open the door." His voice struck through me, causing my heart to skip a beat. What could Ash possibly be doing here?

I open the door fully and Ash makes his way inside, unbothered to even look at me, and before I can start coming at him with the million questions I have in mind. He hands me a notebook with the letters J.R written on them, Jeremiah Redwood.

"This is all I have on him," he says, "Jeremiah gave this to me when we were still in Manchester." I try taking the book from his hand but he hardens his grip. "Be aware that your brother was not the person you always dreamed him to be Ezekiel." He let go of the book and started making his way out the door before I grabbed him by his shoulder, "Why?" I ask with rage building up in my voice. "It's been more than a year since we've left Manchester, why wait all this time to give this to me?"  I add.

"Because of Alissa." He says.

"What the fuck does she have to do with my brother," I ask "or this fucking book?"

"Absolutely nothing, but now that I want you to piss off, maybe this book will lead you to him." He smirks back at me, then says "I really hope you find him, maybe you'll end up like your parents and save us all the wrath of the stupid Redwood family."

I clench my fist and punch him straight in his face as he said that, which made him stumble and fall to the ground, then I got on top of him, rage filling my eyes, and anger taking over my spirit. I wanted to kill him, but before I could punch him again, he laughed with blood coming out of his nose and said "Casual Redwoods," he wiped the blood off his nose "Always turning to violence when faced with the truth." I grab him and lift him up. Ash is 3 years older than me, but he was surprisingly easy to lift up. "Get the fuck out of my house." I push him out of my house and lock the doors.

I stare at the book for quite some time, but Ash's words keep replaying in my head as I look at it. "Be aware that your brother was not the person you always dreamed of, Ezekiel."  What does that even mean?

I put the book aside and dialed Sara's number, if anyone knows how to help, it would be her.

"Hey love," I say "Did I wake you up?" It's nearly midnight and Sara sleeps early usually but it didn't seem like it today. "No Ezie you didn't," She said, "But why are you calling at such a late time?" I'm met with a short pause before she asks again "What happened?"

"Ash happened."

"Okay, I'm on my way." And she hangs up.

It took Sara fifteen minutes to get to my apartment even though it's only two blocks away, but I guess she's a slow walker. I get a text message and jump to my feet assuming it'll be Alissa texting me, but to my disappointment it was Sara.
