Now...
I just woke up feeling the sweat eat up my skin. I don't necessarily have any memory of what ended up happening last night, but based on the fact that Alissa's feet were on my chest and Sara had her head upside down. I'd say we slept watching a movie.
It was around 5 in the morning so I decided to get up and get some things done around the house. After what felt like an hour of cleaning up the memories started kicking in slowly. My vision turned blurry, and that's when it hit me.
"Sara," I say as I shake her awake, "Get up quick." Sara takes a deep breath and yawns before finally getting up, but my Alissa lies asleep because she was really exhausted yesterday, "What's up?" Sara yawns.
"Nothing," I say, itching my head. "Ezie," She says as she eats me with her eyes, "I swear on Alissa's life if you woke me up for nothing, I will burn down this house." She says as she opens the phone to check the time, "It's 5 in the fucking morning."
"I know," I say, cooling her off, "You know how I knew Kyle from Manchester right?" I say, but clearly from the way she is looking at me she has no idea that I knew Kyle from Manchester, "Moving on," I go on, "We need to go to Manchester,"
"Why?"
"Because if you want any hope of finding evidence to any of this," I reply, "If you want to find any sort of clues that can help us understand what is going on. Manchester is where we want to be."
We heard stuff crashing in the living room and Sara and I jumped. Until we are greeted with a black haired goddess rubbing her eyes, "Morning," She says, "Why the fuck are we having a 5 am meeting in the kitchen?"
"We are going to Manchester," Alissa's facial expression had no story when I told her this. I don't know whether it was her mind taking it's time to understand it, "We are going to Manchester my love." I repeat.
"I heard you the first time," She says, looking at Sara and awaiting her confirmation. I really like how Alissa and Sara are getting along together. Eventhough a lot of people don't like it when their partner meets their friends. I genuinely like it.
"So this is actually happening?" Alissa asks Sara, ignoring the fact that I exist in the room. "Well he's your boyfriend," Sara shrugs, "He says he knows Kyle from Manchester and that we need to go . . . for evidence."
Alissa sits there staring at us, "How about we don't go?" She says sarcastically. I don't think she was very supportive of the whole concept of going to another part of the country for a may or may not work out trip, but it's definitely better than nothing.
"My love," I say before she interrupts, "Don't, my love, me right now Eie," She puts a hand to my face, "No more lies for fucks sake."
I tried turning to Sara, but sadly there was no debate in this conversation. I've been keeping secrets, and I've been keeping a lot of them. "Fine," I finally say, "When Jeremiah disappeared I had to be taken care of, you know?" I say rhetorically.
"So Kyle, being Jeremiah's close friend, took me in and then let me go two weeks later." I add, "Let you go," Sara says, "What do you mean let you go?" I really didn't want to get in depth into my past, but by the looks of today I don't think I have a choice.
"I mean I was problematic, angry, full of rage," I say as I picture the whole thing once more, "I wanted to know what it feels like to kill someone, It all just seemed useless you know. I spent my life looking for someone who I shouldn't have lost."
The room went silent for what felt like an hour. Everyone has been sitting in his own world ever since I cried to them about the past and told them the truth. Even though they're still yet to know the story of Ash and I.
"You don't need to worry about it anymore," Alissa says as she comes and sits close to me, laying her head on my shoulder. "I just booked us three tickets to Manchester," She gets up and faces us both, "Get your things ready, we leave tonight."
