Stupid Roots

You were still following Leo. The woods were dark, and you kept getting creepy vibes from every direction. Leo kept tripping, which made it really hard to not laugh at. Then you gasped. Leo's hands were aflame. Not torches, no matches or lighters. His hands were making fire.

You couldn't have tripped at a worse moment. You were so focused on Leo's fire that you didn't notice all the roots on the ground.

"Uh, huh huh." You stuttered

Leo must've thought that you looked weird when he noticed you falling. When it's sunny, you can usually stand on sunbeams, and so it's pretty obvious that you could do other things with them. You had forgotten that it wasn't sunny, (and even if it was, you'd forgotten that you were in the woods) so you had reached out to grab a sunbeam, but to no avail.

"I-I um" You stuttered

"What are you doing?" Leo asked, tilting his head.

"I wasn't following you! I was just, um, also going into the woods."

"So you were following me?"

"No! I was just, ah, taking a walk in these woods too! I'll leave now."

You turned around and speed-walked away. Inside, you were screaming. Leo probably thought you liked him. Which you DIDN'T. But those flames. He just summoned them, and then, they were gone. Poofed into thin air. Well more like they just died down.

Now all you could think about was that hand-fire. You knew about kids with those abilities burning cities down and killing a whole bunch of people by accident. Not your idea of fun.

But could it be? No definitely not. That's not what you were told. You were told that you were due for true suffering. And not the kind Leo was joking about earlier.

You got back to your cabin to immediately get some sleep. But dreams are when they talk.
