Miko's POV
"All right," I told Bulkhead as he walked into the main room, Sari and I on his shoulders. "Chores are done. Now can we do some dune-bashing?"
"I don't know, Miko," he said. "Last time, I spent a week picking sand out of my articulators." Seeing my disappointment, he tried to change the subject. "Uh, but there's a monster-truck rally in town."
"Miko, you make anything seem fun," Sari said with a small chuckle.
"What can I say?" I responded. "I love adventure."
"Don't I know it."
"Optimus, I'm receiving a signal on a restricted band," I heard Ratchet say. "It appears to be coming from a starship inside this solar system." He let out a gasp. "It's an Autobot identification beacon."
"So there are other Bots out there?" Jack asked. Of course there are!
"The masses scattered to the galaxies when Cybertron finally went dark, but Cons have been known to bait traps with false beacons," Arcee explained.
"Unknown vessel, this is Autobot Outpost Omega One," Optimus spoke into the comms. "Identify yourself."
"I've had warmer welcomes from Decepticon combat brigades." Hold on a cycle, is that...?
"Wheeljack?!" Bulkhead asked, his earlier demeanor being shedded for absolute joy. "You old con crusher! What are you doing all the way out here?"
"Bulkhead?" the Wrecker asked. "That you? What's with all the security?"
"The rock we're on is crawling with Cons. How soon can you get here and even the odds?"
"Sometime tomorrow if I put metal to the pedal."
"Another bot's coming here," I said, eagerly anticipating Jackie's arrival. I can still remember the trouble we got ourselves into back on Cybertron. "How cool is that?"
"Pretty cool, Miko," Sari said with a smile.
"Wheeljack," Optimus said to Bulkhead. "I know of him by reputation only. Can you verify his voiceprint?"
"He is 1,000% the real deal, Optimus," Bulk said.
"We will send landing coordinates, Wheeljack. Safe journey."
"See you soon, buddy. I'll make sure you get a proper welcome."
"So, who's the boyfriend?" Arcee asked teasingly.
"Me and Jackie go way back," Bulk said with a laugh. "We were part of the same war unit, the Wreckers, which means the Cons are gonna wish he never found us."
Sari's POV
"Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing zone," Ratchet reported.
"You think he's here to visit?" Miko asked. "Maybe he'll stay! Hmm. Have to find his own human, though."
"Miko, you're rambling again," I reminded her.
"Oops. Sorry." Little Rockstar then popped up, nuzzling her cheek. "Oh, hey, Rocky."
"GroundBridge cycling up," Ratchet said before the levers shorted out. He pounded them, and the GroundBridge finally activated. "Blasted Scraplets! Equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation."
"So, Wheeljack's gonna land halfway around the world and then you'll bridge him here?" Jack asked.
"We can't risk revealing the location of our base just in case the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship," Optimus explained. That's when I noticed Bulkhead was pacing.
