I pulled out the lollipop from my mouth with a satisfying pop sound, skimming over the most annoying text chain over again.
Mr. C: hey, I'd like this month's rent as soon as possible.
me: im sorry for the delay, I know I'm late this month. I've been going through a tough time lately. I'll make it as soon as possible.
Mr. C: Yeah...I don't care about any of that. I want the money this weekend. I don't care if it's legal, illegal, or loaned.
Me: Listen you old, bald hag. I gave your niece free painting lessons. Pay me for that first.
seen.
For a man who barely spoke English, he sure had a good sharp tongue on text.
I sighed.
Timothy walked in with his breakfast.
"You sure you don't want anything?" he asked, and I kept ignoring him.I had lost my appetite when I saw Layla eating disgusting chia pudding in a small bowl as her breakfast. And I on the other hand had gone there to stuff my existence off of the face of earth.
How could she pull off eating that with a straight face, and drink green juice.
I mean she could eat what she wanted but I couldn't help but feel a bit envious of her diet. Nothing unhealthy. Nothing questionable. It's not the best to see when all you have had the past year is frozen chunks of food nuked in your microwave. I was good with my lollipop.
"I have to work today, and I think Layla will also be working. What are you gonna do?" Timothy wasted his energy trying to talk to me again.
Damn, like if you wanna talk to me. At least start a good conversation. Can't believe I dated him.
"What is this mess you've made, Emily?!" He scolded, throwing the discarded bras on the bed from the floor. Belonging to me. I smirked.
"Emily," he called out, I rolled my eyes looking at him."you gonna say something," He asked with gritted teeth.
"What do you want me to say?" I said in a low voice, so only he could hear.
"You're cleaning up," I said looking at the mess he fixed up in the room."after you, I'm cleaning up after you," he said, tired of my shit already.
"That's what all men do, tim," I said, the nickname bringing an uneasy sesantion to my stomach."I waiting for the words coming out of your mouth to start making sense," He said, not looking at me.
"I'm waiting for you to stop embaressing yourself trying to talk to me,"And that shut him up.
Guess I'm lone today too.
____
"guys!" a loud, exited, energetic voice called out in the afternoon. Obviously it's not mine.
"what?" Tim answered knwing the rest two people in the room are close to rocks.
"I completely forgot that I have 4 VIP passes to the club nearby that expire tonight," She said, showing the passes on her phone."We are SO going," She completed, hopping out the room, without a care in to world.
"20 bucks, she just purchased the for us," Joseph said, in a groggy voice as if he hasn't spoken in a long time. He cleared his throat.
"20 bucks, she had them saved for her other friends," Timothy replied smiling, but not taking his eyes away from his laptop.
"You don't have 20 bucks," I muttered to Joseph as I got up and went into our room.
"bitch,"
"Shh-"
_____
I wont ever tell, but I was exited for tonight.
I was exited for anything that included liquor to be honest,
But mostly, I was greatfull towards Layla for all the money she'd been spending on us. I know she was doing it out of complete generosity and never would brag about her money. But again, it was something I'd never say out loud.
I pulled out a black crochet dress, I made myself and kept it aside for tonight. Now ofcourse i'd wear somehing over it, otherwise I'd die of the cold.Lets see what goes down tonight.
