Chapter 5

"Mom can we talk?" Jade asked as she and Laura drove to the hospital.

"Of course, what's up sweetheart?"

"I've been lying to you for a few days. I haven't been at Vivs" she said and Laura turned to her.

"Um where have you been?"

"I met someone" Jade told her, skipping over the how.

"A boyfriend?"

"Yea".

"Oh uh who is he?"

"His name is Christian, he's the CEO of a billion dollar company, he's really sweet and nice and he treats me good and he's only twenty" Jade rambled nervously.

"Okay".

"You're not upset or anything?"

"Why would I be, honey?"

"Because I've been spending most of my time with him and I know you've been at work and with Nick".

"Sweetheart I'm fine, Nick is fine. Just because your brother's in the hospital it doesn't mean you can't have a life. I'm supposed to take care of you both not the other way around and I'm glad you're seeing someone" Laura told her.

"Thank you mom and I still am gonna help out".

"I know you will" Laura laughed "just relax though have fun with your boyfriend and if I need you to do anything I know you would. So when will I get to meet him?"

"Uh I don"t know. Soon maybe, I'll talk to him".

"Okay good".

They saw Nick and hung out with him. Laura may have blurted out the fact that Jade was dating and teased her about it.
Her mom talked to the doctor and they found out he was actually getting better and that the treatments were working. They weren't sure yet how much longer it would take but there was progress so that was good. Oddly enough all Jade could think about was the day after tomorrow and how she would crave Christians touch all day tomorrow.

Jade knew the next day would feel longer than it actually was but Viv was coming over so maybe that would help pass time.

"Hey" Vivian said coming into Jades room.

"Hey what's up?"

"Nothing really, you?"

"Uh a lot actually".

"Hm what?"

"So you know how I told you I was just hanging out with a few guys?"

"Yea" Vivian nodded.

"I wasn't, I uh have a boyfriend".

"What, why didn't you tell me?" Vivian asked excitedly.

"Because it was new and I didn't want to tell you and then it doesn't work".

"So how did this happen?"

"What do you mean?"

"How did you meet him?" Vivian asked and now Jade how to make something up.

"We uh ran into each other at the coffee shop and he paid for my coffee".

"Really aww that's so cute. A classic little meet cute". It was more cliche but Jade knew Vivian would fall for that sappy love story shit.

"What"s his name?" She asked.

"Christian Lance".

"That sounds familiar" Vivian said, recalling where she'd heard it from.

"It might be. He's a CEO. I think he was in a magazine for being the youngest male billionaire CEO or something".
