"I promise you don't have to come, babe" Jade said standing in front of Christian "after your run in with the press yesterday, I'm sure they'll be looking for more than your ten word statement".

"I want to come, don't worry about me. Did he still want us to pick him up?"

"Mhm. He went to Sarah's house and mom is gonna meet us there".

"Alright, come on. And Ethan and Daniel are still coming by the way".

"I talked to Daniel earlier, Nick will appreciate that" she said then they headed to the garage.
They pulled into Sarah's driveway and texted Nick to come outside.

"Hey, thanks for picking us up" Nick said as he and Sarah got into the backseat.

"No problem, you don't have to ride with your team?" Christian asked.

"It's a home game, coach let us leave to grab food and all that and we just have to be back in time".

"Okay".

"How are you, Sarah?" Jade asked.

"Good, excited to watch him play his first game back".

"We all are".

"We'll see if coach even plays me".

"You're gonna play, kid. You've been working hard and kicking ass" Jade assured him as she turned to smile and he returned it.

"Thanks. Is mom coming from work?"

"Yes, I believe so. She might've went home quickly".

"Alright".

"How about burgers afterwards? You're good to hang out, Sarah, or will you need to get home?"

"Burgers sound good".

"Great".

They reached the field and took their seats on the bleachers, Sarah sitting with her friends not to far away from them. Jade leaned into Christian as they made small talk until Daniel and Ethan arrived next.

"Hi" Jade hugged them as they sat down.

"Hey, where's the kid?" Ethan asked.

"Um, over there warming up" she pointed.

"Is he nervous?"

"He keeps saying no, hell I'm nervous".

"He's got this".

"Yea" she nodded before moving to sit behind Christian and beside Daniel while Ethan took her spot. They talked for a minute then got up to go to the concession stand before the game started.

"Where you going, princess?" Christian asked.

"Concession stand, want anything?"

"Uh, just a drink. Here" he said handing her a twenty from his wallet.

"Thank you".

"And you, babe?" Daniel asked.

"I'm alright, thank you" Ethan nodded then they walked off.

"Okay, tell me why your mom is upset" Jade said to him.

"I may have gotten angry with her first, it was misplaced. She brought up kids, again, she asked what we thought about adoption like my sister. I told her that I was pretty sure he wanted kids and that we had kind of talked about it. She started talking about how we didn't have to technically wait to be married and all that. I went home and it was on my mind, so I brought it up. He basically fucking blew up at me".
