IT'S NOT ME

Caring smile!?

I met his gaze and I instantly knew who he was even though I've only seen him once before
I could never forget such a face
Scary yet charming
He slowly approached me and said
"What are you doing walking around with just a gown and no maid?!"

Oh I can't figure out if he's worried about me or ashamed of me
......Probably both
Unluckily I didn't had the book with me to write so I just kept my head down holding tightly my doll
And a chilling silence was erupted

He's not a man with many words

"You don't even have your book with you ... and you're holding a doll....that's weird"

I looked at him with a confusing look and he continued
"Do you really know sign language? Was the duchess saying the truth?"

He looked more confused than me

*Dude if you don't even trust your wife why marry her*

I just simply nodded to confirm

"I need to test this....ok tell me why you're here alone"

Ok dude I will just sign what happened
But let's make it easy for him I don't think he knows signs

"You're saying that you run from your maid and now you're lost?"

*Oh he does understand sign language
That's impressive
Maybe he does care about his daughter*

A firm big hand reached my sight and without hesitation I took it .... Like if my body was waiting for this moment

I wonder if Alex can still have some control over this body?!

I looked up to his gaze and ....was he smiling?

Maybe just a twitch

....or maybe not

after all I still didn't get memories of him from Alex
I squeezed hard at the doll

"I will bring you to your quarters, the maid must have been worried"

*What a real lord caring for his people*

The touch of his hand felt gentle and warm
In contrast of his looks
But I like how his big hands makes Alex's look like a toddler.....
Now that I think of it her body seems weak

Within a minute we reached my room and sure enough the maid and some guards were panicking at my absence

Once the maid caught eye of me
She ran to my feet crying
"Ma laaady I'm im sorry I shouldn't left y uo... alone"

*Sheesh gurl get a hold of yourself*

"She's alright" the duke spoke

The maid looked up and she suddenly looked pale ...is she sick now?

"Du ..du.. duk.. DUKE"
"I'm sorry I'm never repeating this mistake ever again please forgive give me my lord"

She seems hella scared but all this screaming is making me tired

And so I slipped my hand from his

BUT Suddenly the duke lowered his body to my level and spoke calmly

"You're now supposed to meet the crown prince not as his fiancée but as a duke heir
So you should uphold our image"

Oh I didn't even think of it that way
After all I'm not the real heir

But if this help her soul I must act accordingly to Alex duties

And so I looked at his eyes with determination
For the sake of Alex

and he received me with a warm smile and a pet in the head

So that wasn't my imagination back then

"I trust you will keep making the right choices"

And so he left my quarters after untrusting the maid to take good care of my needs
