Krus, Ruv, Affie, and Penelope worked on fixing the house together, only speaking to each other when they needed help with something. Other than that, it was pure silence.

Affie's POV

This is the definition of awkwardness. Dad hates dedushka, dedushka is uncomfortable and wants to do something but doesn't know what to do and what role he and babushka should play in dad's life, me and Penelope can see that, and we have no idea what to do either. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife and b!l3's been in my mouth for an hour now.

"This place still looks like [crap], but it's habitable now." Ruv remarked. "You and Rschvania can move out tonight."

Affie's POV

That was more of a demand then an offer, and we all knew that. *sighs* What has this family become?

Third Person POV

"Thank you, son, for-" Before Krus could finish, Ruv walked away.

"What do we do?" Penelope mouthed, turning to her mom.

"I don't know." Affie mouthed back. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Krus, Affie, and Penelope followed Ruv.

"Ruv, I really am sorry for everything." Krus apologized. "Not just your past, but also for what I said about your...wife. I don't know what, if anything, I can do to have a relationship with you, but if you need me, I'm here. I-"

Before Krus could finish, the fire alarm started ringing and the four ran to the living room of their house, where Rsch was covering the pan with the lid and waving smoke away while Selever and Melody held the door open and Essie was digging through a blue bag, muttering "Where is it?" over and over.

"Why, of all times, are you looking for something in your bag NOW?" Rsch asked.

"Aha! I found it!" Ignoring her grandmother, Essie took out a lock pick and picked the lock of a glass case containing the fire extinguisher before taking the fire extinguisher, pulling the pin and spraying it on the fire.

"What happened?" Krus asked when the fire was extinguished. "Is everyone alright?"

"We're fine, [a-word]holes!" Selever yelled.

"Language, Selever!" Sarv, Krus, Essie, Affie, Melody, and Penelope scolded in unison.

Rsch rolled her eyes. "Krusy, I love you. But can you stop being a hypocrite?"

"I'm not a hypocrite."

"You called me a [bish] and told me to [funk] myself when we first met."

"I know it wasn't an excuse to swear, but you punched me in a very...personal area."

"Not to mention the language you used when you drvnk3nly told your friend and former colleague about me-"

Krus became as red as a tomato. "Alright, alright, I get it! I told you to never speak of times again!"

Rsch laughed. "You love me."

His face became redder (if that were possible). "You know I do, and you never let me forget it."

"Sorry for interrupting the moment." Affie said. "But we're not eating any of this food."

"You're right, me and Essie will have to make another breakfast." Sarv said. She turned to Rasazy. "Rasazy, can you go to the story and pick up a carton of buttermilk to make more pancakes?"

"Sure mom."

"Everyone can go back to what they were doing." Essie said. "Clean up's going to take a while."

"Sorry for burning the breakfast you two." Rsch said, turning to Sarv and Essie. "I'll help you clean up the mess." Sarv and Essie smiled.

"Since it's going to take a while to clean up this mess, can I walk to the store instead of teleporting?" Rasazy asked. "The weather is so nice today."

Sarv smiled. "Sure thing, sweetie!"

Rasazy gave her relatives a hug before walking outside.

"You're just going to let a little girl walk to the store by herself?" Krus asked with concern and worry in his face and voice.

"She's fourteen, Krusveto." Sarv said. "She'll be fine."

"You have no idea what can happen to young ladies who walk alone." Krus said.

"She knows what she's doing. She goes to the store for me all the time."

Krus turned to Ruv. "Are you alright with this?"

Ruv ignored him and walked off to continue working on the house.

"I've seen terrible things happen to women during my days as a police officer. I'm going with her." Before anyone could say anything, Krus ran out and called out for Rasazy.
