A/N: This is written purely in Affie's POV (in second person format). The beginning of this chappie is basically a small part of Chapter 13, but written in Affie's POV instead. Regardless, I highly encourage you to read through the whole chapter.
Also, I hc that Hestia and Iris have the ability to read auras and to determine people's thoughts and emotions just by looking at them as it goes in tandem with Hestia's nature and the colors of the rainbow (what Iris presides over) represents different emotions and auras, so it made sense for me to also hc Iris with that ability and incorporate it into this fic.
After you and your family finished dessert, you, your brother, your daughter, and your niece went to check on your younger sister.
You took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
"Come in." You heard Rasazy say.
"Hi, aunt Rasazy!" Melody and Penelope greeted when the four of you walked in.
"We wanted to check on you." You said. "What's wrong?"
"I don't feel good." Rasazy answered. "Too much bad energy downstairs."
"Is it because of me and dad fighting again?" You could feel a small smile making its way on your face as you saw the regretful expression on Selever's face.
'He really does care.' You said in your mind. 'He just doesn't show it much.'
"No. I've built up a tolerance to that since you do it often...unfortunately." Your younger sister wasn't the only one; as much as the constant fights between your brother and father irked you, it would be a lie if you didn't say you, unfortunately, built up a tolerance to that as well.
"Are you still mad at dedushka?" Penelope asked.
"No. Well, yes, a little. But it's not that." Rasazy's answer intrigued you. If that wasn't the case, then what was it?
"What is it then?" Melody asked. "Something with praded?"
Your younger sister's eyes widened. "How did you know?"
You saw a shift in your niece's expression; she looked saddened. She looked as if she knew something no one else in this room did.
You were about to ask what was wrong, only for her to open her mouth and answer your sister's question before you could.
"I..." Your niece made a long pause, as if she was thinking or contemplating something, before continuing. "Had a feeling."
You could tell something was up...
But what was it?
"Is there something you want to say, Melody?" You inquired, putting a hand on her shoulder.
She smiled at you. "No."
You weren't buying it, as you could tell it wasn't a genuine smile. The smile you saw on her was the forced smile she'd put on whenever she was lying or whenever she had to have her picture taken without anyone beside her; she always had a hard time genuinely smiling in front of the camera if she wasn't beside someone she cared about.
This concerned you even more, but before you could prod any further, she turned to Rasazy and changed the topic.
"Please continue, aunt Rasazy. What's up with praded?"
A sigh came out of your sister's lips. "I don't know. For some reason, I'm getting negative energy from him. I usually get that from dangerous people, but at the same time, dedushka feels very safe. I don't understand it."
