That night I crawl out and go to the lake. I wade in and swim over to the cave. I look at the moon. It's nearly overheard. I hurdle into the cave, making loud splashing sounds and sink down until just my shoulders and ears are out of the water. Then I wait. After what seems like forever, I hear a soft crack. A gleam the brightest of lights erupts into my vision, going straight towards my heart. I feel a sudden spasm in my body and I go under. I stay below the water for over a minute when I think I should go up for air, then realising that I can breathe. I CAN BREATHE UNDERWATER! I look at my feet. My legs have been completely replaced with a shining, silver and black tail. I wiggle back and forwards, when I shoot up and out of the water in one leap. I zip back under and out of the cave. I can see everything under. Fish, coral, crabs, everything. I dart back and forth, flying through the water. Eventually I decide to get out. I walk back on land. Wait. Walk? I look at my tail when I see I have my legs and feet back again. "That's cool." I think. I didn't even have to get out of the water to change back or think about it. I run back excitedly to tell Peter.
