"I'm absolutely willing to believe you, but still, we both need some harder evidence." Peters says. We stare blankly at each other. "Well, how about the speed factor?" I respond. "Ok, let's run and see if anything is different." We start to jog into the trees. Nothing happens. After about a kilometre of slow jogging, Peter picks up the pace. We go faster and still, not a change. We sprint. My heart is near racing, when we stop. "I don't think you've got powers." Peter states. That can't be true. I swear I did. Somehow. Suddenly it clicked. I woke up from the Dreamshade attacking. My heart was racing. When I hugged Peter, I didn't know my own strength. When I walked, it was as though the world had stopped. Dreamshade only works when your heartbeat is racing.
I look at Peter. "Watch this." I say quickly. My knuckles tighten. I breath as quickly as possible. I think of anything and anything that could possibly get my heart pumping. Hook kidnapping me, jumping away from crocodiles, being nearly killed and defenceless. And Peter. I open my eyes and look at him. "Believe this." I think, as I dart off zipping back to camp without a second glance.
