Chapter 5; Love is in the air

The minigolf place was nearly empty. Cody pays for everything even though I try and tell him that we will split it. 

"Are you ready to get smashed?" I say, smirking, as we walk to the first hole. 

He laughs, "Oh so you think you're good?" 

"I don't think, I know"

We laugh as we start playing. We are both pretty much average, and follow each other in score through the course. 

At the last hole, I get lined up to take my shot, not quite finding the right way. We are tied and my competitiveness shine through as I refuse to lose. 

Suddenly, Cody wraps his arms around me, helping me guide. I blush. "Let me help you with that" he whispers in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. 

I feel my knees go weak, and I let him help me even though I am very capable of playing my self. How does he have this effect on me already?!

With his help, I get a hole-in-one and when it's his turn, I can tell he lets me win. I shove him playfully, letting him know I am very aware that he could've won. 

"This was nice!" He says as we give back the equipment. I smile. "It was!" 

We walk back to the car, and he surprises me by opening the door for me. "Wow, aren't you a gentleman?"   I laugh, climbing in. When he gets into the car he looks at me. "Do you maybe want to go back to mine?" 

I smile, "sure!". 

No boy had ever asked me back to his house. I am not really sure what he means by that. Surely he doesn't want to hook up in the middle of the day? 

I haven't gone all the way with anyone, but I don't want to rush it either.  You'll know when you're ready. 

We sit in comfortable quiet as we drive to his house. 

Kylie's POV:  

I was sat at the sun-bed by our pool when my phone buzzed. I haven't spoken to Ashley since she admitted to her betrayal of our friendship-rules. I have been pushing it to the back of my head for days as I don't want to deal with it. We took a blood-oath and she still didn't keep it!! 

I open twitter and see that my phone was blowing up because of the newest J-14 article. 

I press the link and my hearts drop when I see the headline. 

 CODY SIMPSON (16) WAS SPOTTED ON A DATE 

Cody Simpson (16) was spotted enjoying a game of minigolf with an unknown girl earlier today. It seemed like they were enjoying themselves, smiling and laughing - even getting up close and personal at one point. 

Not much is known about his mystery company, but we are sure that he will tell his fans when he is ready. 

The pictures of them does not show her face, because of privacy reasons as she doesn't seem to be a public person. 

The article was short, but a bunch of pictures of them were there. No one showing her face though, only his. He looks so happy. The way he looks at her in some of the pictures makes me nauseous. That should be me!

I grit my teeth as I study the girl. Her hair is strikingly similar to Ashleys. It can't be though. I mean, a lot of girls have that hair. 

But as I study her further, I notice that she is dressed as Ashley dresses. I zoom in and get the confirmation I need. Her anklet. I gave her that anklet and had it special made for her.  Tears well up in my eyes as I realise that my best friend went on a date with the boy I love. That she knows I love.
