Pure chaos.
Screams of happiness and joy mingled with the wails of shock and horror. Some were hugging each other to express pride, while a tiny group in them were holding on to each other with horrendous expectations.
"WE WON!" a boy shouted at a girl, hugging her tight.
"Did he die?" another boy whispered to another girl, eyebrows furrowed.
Sirius dashed to the ground in a blink, almost knocking himself off his broom.
Aurora didn't know when she got up from the bench and started following Remus to the middle of the pitch. She was struggling to catch up to Remus because of his wide steps.
Remus's lungs were on the verge of giving out when he finally reached to the heart of the chaos. He used the best of his height advantage to clear the way, but it was just too much crowd; even the professors were there.
He felt a soft hand clasping his wrist, tugging it in another direction. He saw Aurora's wavy hair disheveling because of the merciless wind.
"What are you doing?"
Aurora didn't acknowledge him, tightening her hold around the boy's arm.
Remus looked around while keeping up with her; he felt angry and anxious. Most of these people weren't there because they worried about Regulus or Sirius; they simply happened to be near, so it was an exciting scene for them. However, their inconsiderate prying was a big problem for the ones that genuinely cared about Regulus and Sirius.
"Remus!" James's perturbed call helped Remus distinguish him.
Aurora let Remus go, stepping back for him to make his way to his friends. Remus grazed her shoulder momentarily to whisper 'thank you' before sprinting to James.
"What the hell happened?" he asked, eyes looking for Sirius.
Remus's eyes found him near Regulus's unconscious body, his hand trembling and skin pale as a ghost. His mouth was moving, but Remus could not catch anything he said except his brother's name.
"I don't know, mate," James uttered before finally getting a hold of Sirius. "Sirius!"
"Potter! Lupin! Get him out of here!"
Remus felt a tiny bit of relief to see Madam Pomfrey next to Professor Hooch. He quickly nodded, eyes locking with James's widened ones to see him do the same.
"Come on, mate. Madam Pomfrey will take him to the wing. Get up," James's tone was gentle, having no effect on Sirius. They both grabbed him by the armpits.
"Get it together, Black," Remus rasped before lifting him.
"Get your hands off me!" Sirius yelled, snapping out of shock.
"You are no help to him in the grass, you hear me?!" Remus raised his voice back, getting impatient with each passing second. He was already in the middle of wild havoc, and Sirius's quaking state was not making things any easier.
James and Remus dragged him from the people as Regulus was taken from the pitch.
Aurora had been keeping her distance from the turmoil taking place before her. However, her eyes were glued on one person, Remus.
She watched how he was struggling to keep Sirius under control; his jaw was clenched, and his hand had grabbed Sirius so tight she wondered if Sirius was hurting. She watched the way Sirius tried to break free and Remus spoke something to him. She didn't hear that, of course, but from the veins popping up in his neck, she could tell Remus was furious.
