Miscarriage

You were laying in bed with JJ and he was asleep with his arm wrapped around your 3 month old pregnant belly. You checked your phone and the time read "4:00 am." You tried to get up to use the bathroom without waking JJ. You succeeded. You walked your way over to the bathroom and did your business. You had pain in your stomach and you knew that wasn't good. You went to wipe and blood was all over the toilet paper. Your eyes filled up with tears and you got up to wash your hands barely being able to see anything with your eyes filled up with so many tears. After you washed your hands you dropped to the floor and buried your head in your knees and cried. The crying got louder and louder to the point were it woke JJ up. He came rushing in seeing you on the floor with tears all over your face and you barley being able to breath. "Y/N! Breath. What's wrong!?" JJ ask you. You try to catch your breath. "I-I went...to use the bathroom...and there was blood." you tell him hyperventilating. He stays silent for a little bit. "JJ. Please say something." you say still crying but your breathing slowly getting better. JJ doesn't say anything and pulls you in to hug you. You bury your head in his chests and you feel tears on your shoulder from JJ's tears. You guys cry into each others arms and he rubs your back. "Do we need to go to the hospital?" JJ ask you cupping your face with his hands rubbing some of the tears off your cheek.  "I don't know. Why would we go if I know exactly what they are gonna say." you tell him. "Y/n it might not be a miscarriage." JJ tells you. "I know it is but we can go." you tell him. "Okay." he says grabbing your hands pulling you up off the ground. "Do you have anything to stop the bleeding until we get there?" JJ ask you. "I think I have a few period pads." you tell him. "Okay." he says. You put on the pad and go to change your clothes. You put on leggings and one of JJ's hoodies. The smell of his cologne on his hoodie gave you a comforting feeling. You put on your platform converses because they were the closest thing towards your bed. JJ put on a black t shirt and just kept the grey sweatpants he was wearing on. He threw on some tennis shoes and grab his keys and his phone and put them in his pocket. You grabbed your phone and his hand and y'all walked out of the house. He opened the passenger side door for you and then got in a started up the car and backed out of the garage. You looked out the window and JJ placed his hand on your thigh. You turn your head and give him a slight smile.

You guys arrived to the hospital and you guys got out of the car and walked in. "Hey Sir how may I help you?" the receptionist lady at the front desk asked. "Hi ma'am my wife um she's pregnant and bleeding a lot." JJ tells her. "I'm so sorry sir. You and your wife can go sit down and her name will be called soon. In the mean time can you sign this for me with all her information." she says handing him a clip board with a paper and pen. He takes it and you guys walk in the waiting room. You feel like everyone is staring at you and your anxiety kicks in. You start biting your nails and JJ notices and grabs your hand to hold it. "Hey everything is gonna be okay." he tells you. You nod and he finishes filling out all your information. "Okay I'm gonna go give this back to the lady I'll be right back." JJ tells you. "Okay." you say as he walks back up to the front. He comes back over and not long after your name is called to go in one of the rooms. "Okay I first want to start off with some questions and then we can examine you." the nurse says. You nod as you sit up on the hospital bed and JJ in a chair right beside you holding your hand and rubbing it with his thumb. "When did the bleeding start?" the nurse ask. "Not to long ago, like maybe an hour or two." you say staying calm. The nurse types that into her computer and moves on to the next question. "How many weeks have you been pregnant for?" she ask. "A little over 12 weeks." you tell her. She ask you a couple more questions now it's time for the examines. She first examines your stomach and does an ultrasound. She sees the baby but there's no heartbeat. She stays silent. You know what the silence means and you try your best not to cry. "Okay now I'm gonna have you pull down your pants because we need to see how much blood is coming out." she says and you nod. You lay your head back even further down and squeeze JJ's hand. She takes the pad off you and you see that it's completely covered in bright red blood. She sighs. She pulls back up your pants and she walks out to bring the doctor in. "I'm so sorry Mrs. Maybank but you did unfortunately have a miscarriage. The bleeding can last up to 6 weeks and by what the nurse told me it doesn't look like you'll need surgery but we are gonna give you some medication to take and some pads that are gonna help with the bleeding." The doctor tells you. Your mind goes blank having to face the actual truth that you miscarried. "Thank you doc." JJ says shaking his hand. JJ helps you out of bed and grabs everything that the doctor gave you. You guys walk out and you feel the whole staff of the hospital staring at y'all. You guys walk out and get back in the car. Your silent the whole car ride home while you look over and see tears in JJ's eyes.

You guys arrive back at y'all's house and walk in. You go straight to the bedroom and grab some shorts and JJ's t shirt and grab one of the pads the hospital gave you and you put all that on. JJ comes walking in with a glass of water and the medication. You take the medication and drink the water. You lay down in bed still feeling like this is all just a bad dream. JJ climbs in bed and lays right beside of you. You stare looking up at the ceiling and JJ scoots a little closer not touching you just in case you don't want to be. You turn around laying your head on his chests and wrapping your arms around him. He wraps his arms around you and you fall asleep and so does he.

You wake up the next morning, JJ still asleep. You get up and walk out of the bedroom. You walk pass what was gonna be your future child's room. There in there was a white crib with painted light grey walls and some gender neutral clothes with a couple glass picture frames with some of your ultrasounds pics of the baby. All you see is red. Before you know it your taking the frames off the walls and throwing them to the ground. The glass breaking as soon as it hits the floor. You keep taking of the pictures one by one to were they are all broken. Your body slides down the wall and you just scream and cry. This wakes JJ up. He comes rushing in and sees the broken frames all over the floor and sees you angry and crying. "Hey hey Y/n it's okay." he tells you. "NO JJ ITS NOT THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!" you tell him basically yelling. This startles him a little bit. "I'm-I'm sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me lately." you say feeling bad about yelling. "Babe it's okay and don't feel like your doing anything wrong, your not. I know this is hard and I know this is gonna take awhile to get over but we'll do it together." he tells you with a smile. JJ did always have a way with words. That was one of the reasons you fell in love with him. "Thank you JJ. I love you." you say with a smile on your face. You kiss him. "I love you more. Now why don't you go back and lay down in bed and I'll clean this up.

JJ cleans up the broken glass and then goes in the living room to text the pouges that you miscarried.

Omg. This breaks my heart. Do y'all need anything? How is she? How are you? She wasn't even that far in the pregnancy. This isn't fair. I'm so sorry JJ.

John B-
Oh man. How are y'all doing. I know this can't be easy for you and I know it definitely isn't easy for Y/n she's been dreaming about being a mom forever.

Kie-
This can't be real. How are you guys holding up? Do I need to come over? My heart is breaking for y'all.

How are you guys feeling about this? I know it can't be easy. Have you called her parents?

Cleo-
I'm sorry man. Poor Y/n. I was so excited to plan the gender reveal and baby shower. How is she?

JJ-
We're okay. Early this morning at like 4 we went to the hospital and that's when they told us. Her hormones are all over the place but we will be okay it might just take some time. Thank you guys for the support. We will be okay, no need to come over. When Y/n is ready for company I'll let y'all know. I called her mom and dad and they were upset about it and they are coping with everything.

After JJ gets done talking with everyone he goes into y'all's bedroom and sees you laying down watching TV. "Hey babe." he says with a slight smile. "Hey J. Are you crying?" you ask him. "Uhh no." he says quickly rubbing his eyes. "Come cuddle with me I need you." you tell him. He climbs in bed and y'all turn to face each other. "JJ. Why did this happen. I was super careful." you tell him. "I don't know. But all I know is that our little peanut is in heaven and I believe God will help us get through this tough time. Now you need to get some rest." JJ says and gives you a kiss on your forehead. Y'all cuddle watching TV and you drift off to sleep.
