Y/N is dreaming of her past

I could hear Laswell's voice come over comms. She told me that we were searching for some intel inside of a building. My team was instructed to sneak in , get some intel, then get the fuck out. We had gotten a tip a few weeks before about AQ possibly holding hostages. I looked over at Aaron who was attempting to fix his vest. I walked over and smacked him on the back of the head "If you keep fiddling with it you're gonna break it dipshit." He shook his head and let out a chuckle "Whatever, help me put this shit on right."  I stood in front of him and fixed his vest. "There, now is won't fall again like last time. I'm surprised that those guys from Al-Qatala didn't shoot you when they saw your vest wasn't on."

I heard someone clear their throat from across the room and saw Cassie and Liam waiting for us. Aaron and I headed their way before seeing the helicopter was started up. As we loaded in, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked over and saw Cassie. "What's us Cass?" I asked her, confused. She got next to me and asked "Are you and Aaron a thing?-." Before she could finish, I interrupted her. "Hell no! The kid is like my damn brother! Anyways, I'm into guys with facial hair unlike this hairless cat." She let out a snort. We took off as soon as Cass and I got settled in our seats. I explained to everyone that we were just going in and out for intel. They nodded in agreement and awaited for us to reach our destination.

We were all lost in our own world until we heard Dmitri yell out that we had arrived. As we stepped out we saw a huge building in the distance. I turned on my body cam and spoke into my radio "We've reached the destination Watcher-1 . Camera is ready. Can you hear me?" I heard the radio click "I can hear you just fine Angel. You have permission to enter but be careful, we don't know how many AQ personnel are in the building." We turned on our night vision goggles and made our way towards the building. I noticed a ladder on the side of the building that lead to a second floor. I peeked into the house and saw nothing in there so I instructed Cassie and Liam to go in through the door while Aaron and I went in through the second floor.

We noticed an opened window and got in through it. I looked around and motioned for Aaron to come in. We had snuck into an office and saw papers scattered across a desk. I had walked up to the desk and scanned over the papers. I noticed that there was a folder sitting on the desk as well. There were pictures attached to pieces of paper. There were around 15 pictures containing people on them. When I closed the folder the front of it read "Targets acquired" in Arabic. "Watcher-1, You seeing this ?" I asked, speaking into my radio. Laswell answered with a serious tone "I can see it. That's what we were looking for. Now get your team out of that building ASAP." I looked over at Aaron who seemed unsettled. After I handed Aaron the file we heard gunshots coming from downstairs

I saw a door that lead to downstairs and I burst it open. I saw my team hiding behind a few crates and I saw hostiles shooting at them. I aimed my gun at them and fired. Aaron helped by firing at them. As soon as they were down. We bolted to the Helo. After we jumped in and took off, I noticed Liam holding his shoulder. I reached over to him and moved his hand. He had gotten shot during the shootout. Blood was starting to soak his shirt. I quickly grabbed a first aid kit and had Aaron and Cassie hold him down. I grabbed out the tweezers and dig into Liam's shoulder. After a few attempts I finally got the bullet out. I disinfected the wound and grabbed the needle from inside the kit and started stitching the wound shut. After I finished, I tied a piece of cloth tightly around the wound.

After we returned back to base, Liam was rushed to the medical ward to receive some proper treatment. We were all on edge, hoping he would be ok. We had showed Laswell what we had found inside the building and she took it to Shepherd. I couldn't help but feel that I was to blame for Liam getting hurt. I knew he would recover quickly but it would hold us back. As soon as he got to leave the hospital, we went to training. He recovered nicely and we were set. Laswell had told me a group of other soldiers would be coming with us for this mission. I wasn't all too familiar with who would be joining up but I didn't complain about it.
