The Asanaka Household; Monday
Akito and I sat beside each other at the kitchen table. We both yawned and laid our heads.
"So...tired..." said Akito.
"What time did we stay up to? Three in the morning...?"
"We shouldn't have done it...especially not before the day we go back to school..."
Izumi came and saw us. "Ohayou."
"Ohayou..." we both greeted in sleepy voices.
She laughed nervously. "We stayed a little too late last night, didn't we?"
"Definitely..."
"Okaa-san and Otou-san already left. I'll make some sandwiches for us."
"Okay..."
Izumi
After grabbing the ingredients and putting them together, I made enough sandwiches for everyone, including Taku and Rin.
"Alright, here you-" I looked over to see my two brothers, sound asleep. I chuckled. "I'll let them rest for now...
Sachi
My World
I woke up in my bed and I sat up in my room. It was the same as when I left it; it was nighttime and none of my sculptures nor other belongings had budged.
I left my room and yawned. I looked to see my mother in the kitchen.
"Oh, you're awake."
"Okaa-san..." I frowned and went towards her, then I hugged her.
"Sachi? Is something wrong?"
I began to cry. "Why...? Why didn't you tell me...?"
She frowned as well. "Sachi..."
I explained what had happened while dreaming; the kaijus, school, the Grid Alliance, my friends, and...listening to her story.
"I see. You found out..."
"Okaa-san, why didn't you tell me?! Why didn't you tell..." I stopped and sighed. "I could've helped you, you know that right?"
"I know, but..." She smiled. "You've already done so much for me."
"Okaa-san..."
She touched my face with her hands. "In this world, and the world that I created, I've done so much only for myself; never did I ever do anything for anyone else." She lets go and looks down. "Everyone else has done something for me, but...I never got the chance to pay them back. I...wanted to help someone and when you were born...I saw a chance."
"But...why would you hide something like that from me?"
"To protect you. I never wanted you to know how much pain I was in and...the choices I made because of it. If I did, you would've done something reckless."
Suddenly, I thought about Takuya's words. "...to share that pain brings even more pain to the one that shares it. By keeping it...you can ensure the safety of others."
"That's what he means..."
"Huh?"
"N-Nothing. So...all this time...you just wanted to protect me?"
